Nothing surprising really. We all knew he wasn’t going before Man United.

And they will have a shortlist but until they actually sack him, they won’t be making a decision on his replacement because until he is actually sacked, they aren’t going to hold interviews for his job.

There are three managers that immediately jump to mind that are out of work and one at least would jump at the chance of managing Everton.... Dyche,Martinez and Pochettino. I am sure there are others besides.
And they are probably all on the shortlist and have been sounded out. But until he is sacked, the board isn’t going to hold interviews and make a final decision.

The stupidest part of the whole thing is waiting until after the game to decide to sack him. It’s pretty inevitable now regardless of the result tonight.

More incompetence from the club; sack him or don’t. Either way make a decision.

The only thing your incompetence is doing is hurting this football club you gang of chancers.

And please make sure you have someone lined up if you do

You sure?

Masters of disaster. Too self-absorbed and clueless to understand they are the problem. Absolutely pathetic when we went through this same exercise less than 12 months ago. They probably think it’s been a success up until recently.

Please surprise us.

I am guessing the manager had an input into the players that were signed, otherwise he should have walked back then if he has so little input into the team he is to manage.

Any team needs to learn to stop losing before you learn to start winning.

The City game showed that we can defend and be difficult to play against and that we can pick up points. I think that if we are going to avoid relegation this season the price we will pay is watching dull defensive football , not conceding much at all and scoring a little more than that.

I think if we try to do anything else we will be relegated for sure.... of course that does depend on no splurging of cash in this window.
But this is what people were having a go at Lampard for earlier in the season?

He tried it, we went 6 games without a win. Because we have no threat up top.

Now, it's definitely the way to go for now but whatever system any manager wants to play, we need players.
