Actually I'm going to turn that back on you: how does listing his results show he wasn't?

So you cant actually back up your statement, okay got it.

Personally, I dont think he was lucky because he came in and implemented a style that was pragmatic, functional and suited the players we had at the time.

If we were lucky we would of been winning games through own goals or the ball bouncing off someone's backside and going in. We didn't it was just defensive style and playing percentages.

It is quite subjective. Depends on who you ask. Quality is a fresh product. Few people wanted Joelinton, Almiron, Dan Burn, Longstaff, etc. a little while ago. Now Newcastle are in third place in the PL, 20 points ahead of us after 18 games. Led by a manager quite a few on the forum here made fun of. Because he after leading Bournmouth from League one to the PL, and kept them in the PL for 5 years with one of the smallest budgets in the PL eventually went down with Bournmouth. In relative terms he overachieved, or no he blew the scale. But the fans could only see what was right in front of them.
I voted for Howe in the poll on here when we were replacing Acelotti and we went for Benitez. You’re right, very few wanted him. Very good manager and miles better than Benitez, Lampard or most managers for that matter.

Yes, he’s got a tune out of some of their flops, doing a great job. They’re way ahead of where they should be. He has improved their team with good additions compared to where they were though so should see some improvement on Steve Bruce’s team.

For us though, the most decorated manager ever could only finish mid table with us when he had Digne, James, Siggi, Richie, fit DCL and we massively relied on them to create and score.

It just seems unrealistic to say Lampard should be finishing in roughly the same position or one or two below when there aren’t any really weak teams in the league this year and we’ve replaced players with a track record of producing quality with players who have no track record of producing quality, at least consistently.

Only so long you can strip quality out an average side, replace with crap before chickens coming home to roost.

Anyway, I’m away out but like your posts ??

Appearances this season, how many of the most appearances are Lampard purchases....... who are to blame for signing off on these?

Pickford 17
Tarkowski 18

Iwobi 18
McNeil 17
Coady 16
Onana 16

Gordon 15
Patterson 13
Maupay 13
Signed under Lampards reign maybe, with the player Lampard was I simply can't imagine him being happy rubber stamping any of those wasters to join us. Something is truly not adding up here.

In a weird but truly honest admission I really hope you are correct, but it's past being a coincidence now of bad manager after bad manager.
Lampard's set up before last nights game was not questioned in a big way, I thought it was good enough to beat Brighton.

When the whistle blows the job switches from Lampard to the players, they went a goal down and turned once more in to the skunks we know.

Massive problem we have here, the Moysie years were Eutopia I now believe.
Have we sacked bad managers who were finishing in the top half? Or were we sacking good managers because we always wanted more, many mangers have left Everton and proved they aren`t bad, so that narrative about sacking bad managers doesn`t really stack up.

Didn't we literally win a game when the ball went in off Niasse backside!!!???

That may have been pre Sam I can't remember

What players have improved under Lampard? Iwobi? Who else?

Why do you think that is? Becuase he is a good coach and surrounds himself with good coaches?

Good managers and coaches DON`T make players worse.....

It’s Kenwright. What a load of nonsense to say “admirers” plural, that fat oaf was the only one that is still (somehow) at the club from when Martinez was here aside from Moshiri who hasn’t a clue about football and probably thinks he’s some chef or something.
