What a load of tosh.

The man built his whole career playing that way, so he was lucky for 15 years?

He sets his teams up to be solid, not take risks and take chances when you get them.

It often results in low scoring games but pick up points, something he did for us
Luck maybe isn't the right word, but I know what he means. There's no progression playing like that, it will get you so far and then you start to regress back to the mean. It's why managers like him never manage at a level where you're expected to get consistently good results, because the way he plays doesn't really lend itself to that. Moyes is the same.

No I agree the way he plays only keeps you at a certain level, your never going to win the league playing that way.

But to say we were lucky under him is completely wrong, he done exactly what he set out to do, grind out results playing defensively boring football.

If he is to be sacked imminently I'd keep an eye out for when the games have KO tonight. That's a trick owners and boards use to get it done under the cover of a round of important games.

He isn't though that's the thing. His 7 point plan thing that he had for getting teams out of trouble just doesn't work in the modern game anymore. Allardyce hasn't got the skillset to adapt it either towards how most teams play. The way he got relegated with WBA, his reactions from it, he thought his plan was flawless and it wasn't hence why he retired afterwards. There was a time and a place for Sam Allardyce but these days he is yesterdays news, he is also extremely corrupt (I dare to even think about some of the brown envelopes Sam has collected over the years) Can't understand any fan of any club who would want him as manager.
Oh man, do not take me saying he is good at what he does as me wanting him back as manager. I do not.

This is ridiculous. I like Frank but he's out of his depth. We will get the usual rallying cry and put in a decent show against Utd, but likely ultimately lose. The players will then do their usual 'that effort should be the minimum, we must back it up against Southampton blah blah blah'. Then we will make Southampton look like prime Brazil and sack Frank without any plan who to appoint.

Fast forward 12 months and repeat until we have one hell of a stadium in the championship. I hate to say it but we probably need moyes back, I can count on one hand how many times we 'performed' like Brighton under him.....
