Right I need to admit something. Dannys on holiday and gave me the keys and strict instructions on house sitting this place for him.

Basically in lamens terms I had a party got drunk and fell asleep with the back door open. Le Blaq coq entered through the back door and caused havoc and basically we couldnt get it back up until the early hours.

I've been away on holiday so excuse the delay in explanation behind the inaccessibility.

The reason for the downtime is quite simple, our server couldn't cope with the unprecedented level of traffic. To put it into perspective, the last 3 days of traffic collectively beat our highest ever month in 5+ years. GrandOldTeam tends to be the first place 'neutral' fans browse - so if there's a big transfer, you have fans of other Clubs coming on to see reaction.

There's little we can do to prevent it and quite simply, we couldn't afford to regularly sustain that kind of 'spike' traffic. It was completely unprecedented - not helped by other Everton forums being inaccessible.

So please stay patient
