Nice works lids. All right, though i think the nik pic shat itself.

I usually enjoy keeping up to speed with the F1s but this year too busy. Good thread to catch up in.

I waned Alonzo to win, and whilst Vettel has the same knack as Schumacher for 'bending' the rules, I wouldn't want it to go down like this. Besides:

However, on the footage from Vettel's car it is not possible to see clearly the marshals' post that is situated on the inside of the track at the exit of the pit lane - after the yellow light at Turn Three.
It is possible that the marshal there was waving a green flag. If he was, the pass on Vergne would be legal and the result would stand.
A green flag is waved at that post as Vettel passes the Marussia of Charles Pic on lap three, but it is not clear whether it was still being waved on lap four.

Not sure why they would have stopped waving it in between laps, so I suspect it was probably being waved at the time, although you can't see anything from that footage. Would be interesting to see the footage from the same point of lap 3. Not sure they'll be able to prove it one way or the other at this point...

Gutted. I don't think anything is going to come of this.

Alonso would have been the much more deserving champion though.

Agreed, but I would not have wanted him to have won like this. Ferrari aren't exactly whiter than white when it comes to getting away with things.

Vettel drove very well too as I said in my mid-season post. He was always a dark horse for the championship if Red Bull just developed the car in the direction that Vettel likes it, which they were always going to do. Frankly it was rediculous to ever think that he was not firmly in the reckoning given his record in the last few years.

I'm looking forward to next year already. I have a sneeky suspicion that it may finally be Alonso's year.

Same really. It was the case of the lesser of two evils for me as I've never liked Ferrari, I just hate seeing the same team or driver win over and over. Ideally I would have liked Mclaren to win and with the start they had it looked possible. I was watching something on Sky F1 last night which gave a quick review of all the races throughout the season and it was sad to see Hamilton going from winning and praising the team to where he is now.

Unlike a lot of people I like Alonso, I've followed him since when he was at Renault. For me he's the best driver on the grid.

I never used to be able to stand him, especially when he was at Mclaren and pulled one particular sh*thouse move on Hamilton in the pits, but this season he has grown on me more and more and he clearly has a lot of respect for Hamilton. I'd have much preferred Alonso to have won the title and I think he is the better driver, probably now my favourite driver outside of Hamilton & Button.

I've always liked Alonso too since he deposed Schumacher/Ferrari at the top of the tree back in 2005. Now he is older and wiser, I think he is driving better than ever, having lost none of his speed but now more consistent than he was a few years ago.

It is strange to imagine but had he had a better slice of luck or the cards fallen his way, Alonso could easily be a 5 time WDC by now.

The drivers who I have genuine disdain for are those who will willingly play 2nd fiddle - Webber, Massa, and their ilk. A real racing driver will never accept a no2 position.

Yep have to agree mate, I used to quite like Webber but the last couple of seasons he's well and truly become a number 2 driver and has accepted that by the looks of it. I'm sure if he really wanted he could of got a drive at another team, he'd have just as much chance of a title somewhere else because Horner will never allow him to displace Vettel as Red Bulls poster boy.
