Former Everton Centre Forward Duncan Ferguson steps into management.....

Colm Goode has hit out at Duncan Ferguson in regards to his loan spell at the club. The 19 year old striker has appeared just 11 times all season but is yet to find the net. "My loan spell has been a nightmare. I've struggled to adjust to life at Fylde and I don't believe I have been given a fair chance to express myself. The team are doing well but how are players supposed to improve if we aren't given enough game time? I came here on loan under the assumption I would be playing regular football and that has not been the case. I could have had more minutes playing in the u23's league. Ferguson is a good coach and I respect him but I question the youth development policy here. There are other young lads here like Darren Morris and McKimm-Forster and we often find ourselves left out of the squad on match days. If I realised it was like that here I would have opted for somewhere else."

Colm Goode was talking to BBC reporters after suffering an ankle injury earlier this week in training.

And to think I thought he would Colm Goode for us in the end.

Heard Dunc fell out with some of the younger lads after he caught them out late in Blackpool all dressed in skorts and carrying manbags. Not sure if Big Dunc is too behind the times when it comes to dealing with kids who are earning silly money to go out 2 or 3 nights a week.

This is what happens when you just chuck massive wages at these kids mate, ridiculous when you think we've put some of these lads wages up from £250pw to £275pw and we still expect them to stay grounded.

Cheltenham vs AFC Fylde

Tyrone O'Neill earned a place in the starting lineup after his cameo against Ipswich Town. Fylde were pushing for the opener but were unlucky in the first half, Henderson and Bytheway with the best chances. With seconds remaining in the first half, Kensdale played in Newton who beat Sam Gibson to the ball and struck the post, Dube and Gibson seemed frozen and Newton slotted in the rebound to make it 1-0. A defeat for Fylde is simply not an option and they need to come out in the second half. Whitfield took the ball down and left Gibson for dust on 53 minutes when he slotted to make it 2-0. Ferguson had had enough and hooked him, bringing on Macrae. Russell Carey tried to get one back for Fylde in stoppage time but his shot was comfortably saved by the keeper. Cheltenham's win sees them move into play-off contention and Fylde fall to four points behind Sunderland.

DF: We showed too much respect today and Cheltenham put us to the sword. They deserved the victory over us for the second time this season and that's all I have to say on the matter.

AFC Fylde vs Burton Albion
15th April 2033

=Burton result.webp

The first game of the Easter weekend was Fylde taking on struggling Burton Albion. Theo Walcott was hopeful of getting one over on his former coaches to help his team try to avoid the drop. 23 minutes gone, Martyn Perry lined up Adrian Pirone who drilled the ball past Dube to make it 1-0 from outside the box. Not the start Fylde expected. Two minutes later Bytheway took the ball down the right and played it to Stockbridge on the overlap who crossed into the box, Carey headed towards the top left corner and beat the keeper to make it 1-1! Instant reply from Fylde! Euan Henderson came down with an injury and was replaced by Joe Donnelly on 38 minutes. Fylde needed to take the lead with the news breaking that Sunderland were beating Bolton. 66 minutes and Ferguson was pushing his team forward, Stockbridge got the ball out wide and crossed towards Carey, he missed the header and it fell to Donnelly, the whole ground fell silent and he lobbed it into the back of the net to give Fylde the lead! The whole stadium erupted! Mick Wisdom replaced Patrick Uttridge and Darren Morris replaced Vince Bytheway. Morris tried to get the ball to Carey but it was intercepted and played wide to Thompson, he beat the challenge of Jones and played it in for Patten to knock in to equalise with 7 minutes to go! A fatal blow to Fylde! It's finished 2-2 at Mill Farm and there are some subdued people here at Mill Farm.
DF: It feels like a defeat, it was in our hands and to concede late on could have cost us an automatic promotion spot.
