Vinny Bytheway is real and he is magnificent

There's a guy in the place who's got a bittersweet face
And he goes by the name of Vinny Bytheway
His friends call him Vinny and he's a little skinny
And he'll vibe up the place like no other man could
He's refined, sublime, he makes you feel fine
Though very much maligned and misunderstood
But if you know this geezer he's a real crowd pleaser
You can hear me say, he's Vinny Bytheway
You can see that he's mischievous, mysterious and devious
When he circulates amongst the people in the place
But once you know he's fun, and something of a genius
He gives a grin that goes around from face to face to face
Backwards and then forwards, forwards and then backwards
Vinny is the pleaser who loves to muscle in
That's about the time the crowd all shout the name of this geezer
As he's slots in the corner and in the top bin

By the way by the way
It's Vinny Bytheway
By the way By the way
It's Vinny Bytheway

"Has anyone been to his mums Vera's?"

Bytheway, leading light of the scene, know what I mean?
He created the vibe - He takes you for a ride as if by Design
The game ignites like it's comin' alive
He takes you to the top, shakes you all around
Then back down - you know as he gets mellow
Then as smooth as the groove that is making you move
He glides into your mind with a sunny "Hello!"
A gentleman of leisure he's there for your pleasure
But go easy on old Vinny he's the love you could lose
Extraordinary fellow, like the legend Hendo
He's the kind of geezer who must never be abused
When you're in the ground and Vinny is around
You can sense a presence in the sound of the crowd
He gets them all at it, the party starts rocking, the people get excited
It's time to shout loud

By the way by the way
It's Vinny Bytheway
By the way By the way
It's Vinny Bytheway

"Got any salmon Sorted to chuck St Forest Green"

By the way It's Bytheway

Oh what a carry on, ha ha ha ha ha

Anyone played the beta?

If they have, what’s the crack with 31 yo Everton midfielders who are decent at set pieces? Usually my first sale to raise funds. Dunno if I can be arsed ditching my fairly fresh FM21 save if I’m gonna be more skint on there than I am IRL

AFC Fylde vs Luton Town
4th January 2033

=Luton result.webp

After reaching the F.A Cup Fourth Round it was back to league action and the visit of Luton Town at Mill Farm. Declan Marshall made a good start to the match and on 8 minutes battled hard to win the ball, get a shot at goal but it was deflected wide. Three minutes later Fylde came forward, Wilson was allowed to space to move into, he played it wide to Morton who crossed and Carey took it down nicely, tried to shake off his marker but had to come back to Wilson who quickly played it wide to Bytheway, he crossed and Carey rose above the defender to head into the bottom corner, 1-0! Swann took the Luton corner on 17 minutes aiming towards the far post, Embleton put it across the box low and Bytheway tried to clear but put it over his own goal line, 1-1! A freak goal and an embarrassing moment for Vince Bytheway. John Jones won the header from the Luton goal kick, he knocked it down for Henderson who turned and ran towards goal. Henderson played a ball into Carey who looked up and hit a swerving shot that nestled into the bottom corner! His second of the game! 2-1! Russell Carey was in fine form and just after half-time got his head on the end of Jones' corner guiding it into the bottom corner but it was ruled out for offside. Russell Carey was excellent for Fylde and earned a man of the match award for his performance.

Mansfield Town vs AFC Fylde
7th January 2033

=Mansfield result.webp

Ferguson kept the same team that was triumphant against Luton a few days earlier and with Russell Carey in excellent form there was no way anyone was getting in ahead of him. Ferguson stated in his press conference that the football was clicking into place and as long as he had a fully fit squad he could compete on all fronts. Russell Carey had a good chance saved when he got his free-kick up and over the wall on 3 minutes, the keeper making an excellent save. Few minutes later Henderson glided into space with the ball and launched a right footed shot which the keeper turned behind. Henderson sent the corner to the near post and Sam Gibson was shoved which resulted in a penalty! Russell Carey wanted it and the keeper got his hands to it but the power was enough to take it behind, 1-0! On 20 minutes Euan Henderson was brought down and stayed down, the winger could not carry on and was replaced by Joe Donnelly. We hope this injury isn't serious. Fylde were brilliant defensively and Dube was on top form yet again. John Jones was desperate for a goal and his free-kick efforts were not far wide. All in all a comprehensive win for Fylde on their travels which keeps the pressure on Preston and Sunderland.

Coventry City vs AFC Fylde
15th January 2033

=Coventry result.webp

With the transfer market quiet for Fylde, it allowed them to be focused on their football and were in a decent run of form on the coattails of Preston and Sunderland. The first piece of action came around the 30th minute mark, Marshall crossed into the box and John Jones found himself furthest forward but he was grappled to the floor and Fylde were awarded a penalty! Russell Carey wanted to continue his good run of scoring form and placed the ball down, he went with power and aimed towards the top right corner but the keeper pulled off a magnificent stop! Jones took the resulting corner and found the powerful Carey who bullied his way to win the header and smash it past the keeper! 1-0! It was a good first half for Fylde who could have been three up by half-time, Marshall had a good effort saved from 20 yards and Gibson headed just over when Jones found him with a great ball. The board went up for an additional minute and Wilson sprayed it wide to Bytheway who then came forward, he slotted it through to Carey who blasted it low into the bottom left corner, 2-0! Can Carey be stopped? Fylde were so quick on the counter attack and when Uttridge won the ball back on 512 minutes he got it forward to Marshall, Marshall played it wide to Bytheway, he crossed to the near post and Carey was there to get his hattrick! Excellent football from Fylde! Fylde were sensational all over the park, Jones won the header from the Coventry goal kick and Uttridge flicked it on to Henderson on the left, he came forward and switched it to Bytheway, he had a look up and played it into the box for the run of Henderson and he knocked it past the keeper to make it four! The stands emptied in the Ricoh Arena with 30 minutes to go! It was a faultless performance from Fylde and their team march on recording a fifth consecutive win.

DF: That was brilliant to watch, we took the game to them and allowed them no space at all. Top performance away from home and let's hope we can do it all again next weekend against Birmingham in the cup.

Vintage Fylde. Win 10 then lose 10. Maybe Ferguson has occasional relapses on his famous tippex addiction and goes mad with formations. Someone should be keeping an eye on his hooter for any tell tale white freckles.
