Yessssss Jimi that is EXACTLY the kind of film I was thinking of. I'm gonna get be VHS rigged up to the neighbours leccy and watch that tonight.

I'm sure Terry who lives in his other mums loft still owns that Rocket Launcher he bought from Violent Vlad the crazy Russian fella who used to run the bingo down at Sharon's Social Club.
 

Fylde vs Kidderminster Harriers

A home tie in front of a passionate home support in defence of manager Duncan Ferguson. Fans of this club have seemed some scintillating football on this coast since the former Everton man took over and Fylde knew if the board were to react to recent results they would struggle to find a better coach. Ferguson needed a reaction from the players in the right manor and there was no better time to get it than in front of your home support. Sam Byram seemed to have picked up a slight knee injury early on but signalled to the bench he was ok to carry on. Byram played through the pain barrier and put a nice cross into the back post for O'Neill but his header hit the bottom of the post and bounced clear. Byram was causing the opposition problems down the right side, he got the ball inside to Hutson who looked up and crossed for O'Neill this time putting his header across goal and into the bottom corner, most of the ground thought it was going wide but it found its way in. The Coasters took the lead! Fylde were leading with 34 minutes to go, Kidderminster won the corner and McGuffie crossed into the six yard box, Wilson challenged for the ball with Feeney, the keeper had committed himself and the ball found its way in. Ryan Elliott replaced Sam Byram who tried to play on but was in too much pain. Elliot came forward down the right with one minute of the five added on left to play, he crossed into the box and O'Neill lost his man......he volleyed in with his left! 2-1! The Coasters have done it! The whistle blew! Fylde got the win!

DF: I thought it was going to be another one of those days! It looked like we were heading for a point but to grab something like that at the end was fantastic, that's the true Fylde spirit we've been wanting to see for a while!

Fylde will be hoping that this is the turning moment in the season. After today's win they find themselves in sixth place, six points off leaders Sutton United. Their next match in the league is away to 23rd place Gateshead but next we turn our attention to the F.A. Trophy Second Round.

do you remember when we robbed all the garden gates from Chuckie Street and stuck em all on our heads and the stewards wouldn't let us in due to health and safety. Mad Mick kicking off cos he was saying how aren't you allowed to have a gate on your head in Gateshead and got arrested for doing a bull impression and ramming into the floodlight tower, knocking it down and getting the game abandoned.

AFC Fylde vs Newport County
FA Trophy Second Round
16th January 2027

It was the visit of Newport to Mill Farm for the F.A. Trophy, Lee Lofthouse started the game in a front three with O'Neill and Townsend. Newport started the match well, Foster being called into action a number of times doing a great job in keeping the scores level. Mick Wisdom sent in a free-kick into the box just after fifteen minutes, the ball was cleared back to Wisdom who headed it back into the six yard box for O'Neill to slot home but the flag was raised, O'Neill was caught in an offside position. Lewis Wesson was known for his dangerous delivery and it caught the Fylde players off guard when he sent in a fast ball into the box from the free-kick and Lewis Collins slotted it past Foster to put Newport in front. Newport were handy from free-kicks and just after the restart Michael Gallen rocketed in his dead ball from 20 yards out, Fylde unable to lay a glove on Newport so far. Fylde were caught on the counter attack when a long ball forward for Collins found him through on goal and he slotted past Foster, Newport well in the clear now. With twenty minutes left, Lamptey put in an early cross for Paul Townsend inside the box who pulled one back for Fylde but surely too late for a comeback? The game was confirmed with 6 minutes to go, Collins buried his chance after getting the pass from Duckett and Newport were on their way to the third round. Mick Wisdom hit the bar from his free-kick with minutes remaining and Josh Ferguson had his follow up saved from close range.

DF: We were last out there. We are conceding too many goals and the chances should be stamped out in the first instance. Defence was poor and I've got ask the players if they want to be at this club because this club deserves better.

Gateshead vs AFC Fylde
23rd January 2027

After being dumped out of the F.A. Trophy it was back to league action and wins on the board were needed for The Coasters, their opponents Gateshead were 23rd in the table and were also in need of a victory. Morgan Feeney did not travel due to being ill with flu so Kyle MacDonald takes his place in the side. Sam Byram suffered a slight hamstring injury two days before the game but was included in the starting line-up, given the all clear to play. Boreham Wood salvaged a late draw against Blackpool in the earlier kick-off so now Fylde had a chance to take advantage on the team above them in 5th. It wasn't the best of starts for Fylde, Gateshead came forward from the kick-off and McGavin put in a great tackle, however in doing so he pulled his calf muscle and had to leave the field for Ryan East. Gateshead were fired up and tried their luck on getting shots on target but Fylde defended well in the early stages. Wisdom played it out wide for Henderson who headed the ball into the area, O'Neill went up and won the header but nodded it just wide of the post, most thought it was going in. The first half ended with neither side really deserving of the lead, both sides had their fair share of chances. As the game went on it seemed a draw was looking likely, the Gateshead keeper hit the ball upfield but it was won back by Ryan East, he tried the long ball forward for O'Neill, who managed to get onto it through a crowd of bodies but was brought down inside the box....penalty! It was down to Euan Henderson to put The Coasters in front. Henderson took the kick on his right foot into the bottom right corner, the keeper guessed the same way....one-nil! Fylde with the lead! The match was drawing to an end and Gateshead were beginning to put on the pressure, 4 minutes added on and Fylde were doing everything they can to hold on. Gateshead tried one last time as the clock hit 4 minutes and Foster went up and caught the ball, the cheers rang out from the travelling supporters and the whistle went before he could take the kick. A much needed away win for The Coasters.

DF: It's always tough going to teams who are struggling down the other end, they show a different kind of desire and will throw everything at you to get something from the game especially when they are at home. It was freezing cold up in the North East today but to come away with a scrappy win is delightful. It wasn't pretty by any stretch of the imagination but we held our nerve and got what we came for.

The injury to Brett McGavin will see him sidelined for the next month.
