HENDERSON CONTINUES TOP FORM
It was a trip to Edgely Park for Fylde against newcomers Stockport County. Fylde last played County two seasons ago in the F.A. Cup Fourth Qualfying round beating them 3-2 after extra time in the replay. Euan Henderson seemed determined to put Fylde's underperformances behind the side when after 2 minutes when he placed Wright-Phillips' low cross past the County keeper. Fylde went 2-0 up when Mick Wisdom was ever present making great tackles in midfield and getting moves started with Henderson setting up McGavin for a lucky shot that happened to bounce over the keeper and into the net. Fylde did not stop there and showed Stockport they wanted it more, Connolly laucnhing a ball forward from defence seemed to be running out of play but the lightning speed of Euan Henderson chased it down and got a cross in for Wright-Phillips who made it 3-0 at the end of the first half. Devastating from Fylde and looking like job done at half-time. Fylde kept their shape in the second half dealing with a Stockport attack but it was keeper Hadler at fault when Benson found the top corner from 20 yards out. The keeper looking susceptible to long range efforts and still looking for his first clean sheet of the season. The goal did not deflate the spirited Fylde side and they scored their fourth a minute later, the great partnership of Wisdom and McGavin linking up with McGavin scoring low and hard into the bottom right corner. Denver Hume played his first Fylde game in quite a while and put in a good display, he was replaced on 60 minutes by Okoroji at left back. With 20 minutes remaining, Tom Hadler was looking to slow the game down to the displeasure of the Stockport fans, they later had the last laugh when Hadler gave the ball away from the goal kick and it came straight back into the box for Loft to score a free header. Fortunately for Fylde they kept their heads and saw the game out recording a good away win at Stockport.
DF: We performed well, it was a good result today but I'm not happy with some individual mistakes. We look shaky at the back and we need to look to deal with that when we don't have the ball. It's important we maintain our shape and certain players continue to press the ball. We have to get this right sooner rather than later.

Carlisle United were taking to life well in the National League and were up against one of the divisions better sides, Fylde. Wright-Phillips tested keeper Bossin early on when he had a free run towards goal but his shot was down the throat of Bossin who held it well. It was a well worked set-piece which caught out Fylde for the goal, Glendon was taking the kick from the right flank but a pass to the edge of the box to Maddox caught everyone out and his shot was hit well past Harry Wright to make it 1-0. Wright in goal for today's game due to Hadler picking up a minor foot injury in training. Maddox came forward again but Feeney made a great interception to start a Fylde counter attack, Lamptey came forward and put the ball through for Henderson who beat his defender slotting on his right foot to equalise. Fylde could not get through to the break at 1-1 and Maddox again was a threat, his cross found MacDonald who lobbed a header over Wright who could have done so much better with it and kept it out. There was a moment of madness in the game after 60 minutes, Lamptey put in a good tackle on Cammy MacDonald but MacDonald felt Lamptey left one on him so immediately got up and went through Lamptey with two feet! The referee had no choice but to send off MacDonald and Lamptey was able to carry on afterwards. Ferguson wanted more from his team after Carlisle were reduced to ten men but Carlisle pulled together and kept everything Fylde put forward out. Ferguson fiercely disappointed at the whistle. The team that usually show spirited fight backs disappointed the travelling fans and themselves, failing to grab something from the game.

Euan Henderson excelling in tonight's game when a first half hat-trick was enough to see off struggling Kidderminster. It was the return of two players today; Tom Hadler lining up against his former club Kidderminster and a warm welcome greeted right back Luke Burke who was also the subject to cheers when he fouled Tyrone O'Neil in the box after the striker beat him for pace. Henderson scored from the spot and did so duly again ten minutrd later, sending the keeper the wrong way twice. Slick forward passing from Fylde got their third of the game, Connolly winning the ball back, Henderson launching a long ball to tricky winger Danny Smith and his cross back to Henderson to seal the third. Henderson in top form and shooting straight to the top of the goal scoring charts. Terrible defending from Fylde late on saw Brothers score against Hadler who would have loved that first clean sheet but the striker took the ball round the keeper and finished neatly into the open net. Hadler blaming the defence for the goal and he had every right to as the back line let the ball straight into the box without dealing with it. Fortunately Fylde had enough left in the tank to get the win and a much needed win puts them back up the National League table.

Can’t believe Luke Burke had the balls to come back after his showing in the play offs a few seasons ago.
I said to the old boy next to us at the game when Burke gave away that pen ‘Luke Burke was made to look a Burke then. How we laughed. I think he was laughing anyways. Either that or he was coughing his guts up. I left him to it after 20 mins.
Gonna be another tight league this year, there’s some good teams about and Forest Green of course the useless salad munchers.

As for that Burke.... grrrrr. Mind you some fella cracked a gag about him when he gave a penalty away and poor old gormless Stan started choking on his pie for about 30 minutes. Turned out it was one of those lettuce pies from Forest Green. Might as well gone to North Africa and took a bite out of the Sahara desert. No lubrication in them vegan pies. What you want is some gravy and juicy meat. I digress of course, Luke Burke what a Jeremy Hunt.

FYLDE CLIMB THE TABLE
Fylde were expected by many to put a few goals past Chippenham but were unable to find the back of the net during the first half. Danny Smith went off clutching his hamstring after 30 minutes and Mick Wisdom who was playing as the sole midfielder recieved two bookable offences, leaving the field after 54 minutes. Chima Okoroji found O'Neill inside the box when he crossed from deep for the striker, O'Neill scoring past the keeper with style on the volley. Fylde pushed Chippenham back for the remainder of the game to solidify the victory but could only manage the one goal this afternoon.

In surprising news, Duncan Ferguson landed another striker on loan. Paul Townsend joins until the end of the season from Barnsley.
DF: We need that fire power and I said if certain players aren't meeting my expectations then I'll find somene who will. He got 18 last season for Blackpool, I hope our fans can forgive that and get behind him this season.
If signing Paul Townsend was a move to ignite the fire inside Tyrone O'Neill then it could have worked, O'Neill scored after 4 minutes when Connolly pumped the ball forward for Henderson who put it across for O'Neill to score. It certainly sparked a fire in the Fylde team when Henderson chased down every ball, getting it across to Wright-Phillips who took it on the knee then unleashed it into the top corner giving the keeper no chance. Fylde playing well throughout the first half and McGavin almost made it 3 when his shot was a tad over the bar. The moment came in the second half when Townsend came on for Robinson, O'Neill latched onto to the loose ball and put it into the path of Townsend, the 19 year striker putting his shot just over the bar leaving the youngster with his head in his hands. Fylde fans applauding the movement of the striker to get in the position to score. Hartlepool got one back through Patten's poorly hit shot that should have been a simple save for Hadler, the keeper fumbled the ball against the post and put it over the line. The keeper making some calamitous errors in his early days at Fylde. Hadler made up for it minutes later when Patten was through on goal one on one with the keeper and Hadler made a great fingertip save to deny Hartlepool the equaliser. Wright-Phillip was close to his second when his curling shot drifted wide of the post. Fylde got the victory to push them up the table early on in the campaign.
