After their opening weekend victory over rivals Leyton Orient, it was a trip to Dagenham to play Dagenham and Redbridge. Fylde were the better side on this sunny afternoon but they struggled to convert their chances which eventually led to frustration for The Coasters. On loan striker Kian Robinson replaced Tyrone O'Neill after 69 minutes but the breakthrough did not come. Tristan Abrahams performed under pressure when a long ball upfield saw him break free of Feeney and Connolly at the back and slot past Tom Hadler in goal. The late winner saw Dagenham pick up the three points serving Fylde with an early defeat this season.

DF: We kept possession well, looked good going forward and moving the ball but it was the finishing that cost us. We really have to do better in front of goal and some players will be told they have to perform better.

It was the first night game of the season and it was the visit of National League North champions Hereford United. Fylde got off to a good start and came very close to breaking the deadlock after 30 minutes, Danny Smith's corner found Morgan Feeney at the front post and his header just glanced over the bar. Danny Smith was having a good game and got an assist when his cross found Robinson who made a great run into the area to score on his left foot first time. The Coasters deserving their lead. Hereford showed fighting spirit and fought back late on, Reynolds scoring from 12 yards out when his first shot was blocked by the defence, Tom Hadler was at fault for the goal failing to get across to the ball. Hereford went down to ten men in stoppage time when Feeney found O'Neill who beat the offside trap but Wayne Holmes pulled back the striker and received his second yellow card of the evening. It was approaching the last throw of the dice for Herford and Dunne whipped in the free kick but Robinson cleared the ball towards the touchline, Reynolds chased down the ball for Hereford but was chased by Tyler Garrett, Garrett was adjudged to have put his hands on Reynolds who went down to the ground, the referee blowing for the foul. Fylde should be disappointed to have dropped points in the last game against newcomers Hereford and will look to make immediate amends in their away trip to newly promoted Stockport. The fixture list being relatively kind but wins are required if Fylde are to mount a serious title challenge.

Now now. Calm down mate. I know passions are running high
I'm tired and emotional. They've ran out of meat at Fylde market so I bought some vegan sausages to get me through the coronavirus and the girl on the till called me a Forest Green supporting &%$£.

Fortunately I got some discounted meat from Butcher Mike at the Stag's Head. £20 for a mystery bag, and I reckon I could rebuild a sheep from what was in it. Get yourself down there.
