After Luke Burke took an early shower, Fylde were on the backfoot and Ebbsleet scored two goals from corners to ensure they got promotion to the football league. James Hardy had a chance to pull one back in the second half but the Ebbsleet goalkeeper was confident to turn it behind with a great save. Over to Duncan Ferguson.....
"Another season, another heartbreak. The best team won, Ebbsfleet played much better than we did but it could have been different if we had eleven men on the pitch. Luke let himself and his team down doing that, it was rash and there was just no need. I'm gutted, we got so close and I want to apologise to the fans who travelled down here today, you were great and your support didn't go unnoticed. I'm sorry I couldn't deliver your ambition.
"Duncan, where do you go from here?"
"My contract is up at the end of the season and I haven't sat down the with chairman over a new deal. At this moment in time, I don't know where my future lies but I know I want to continue in management. I've still got a lot to prove."
