From Afternoon tittle-tattle: Barry City medical, Forlan opens door, Adams for Celtic, Perez stokes Ronaldo flames, Gudjohnsen update 02 June 2009 - 16:55 | Sport.co.uk

"Diego Forlan has also opened the door for Mark Hughes to make a move as the Uruguayan hitman weighs up offers from across Europe. For the second time in his career the former Red Devil will be crowned Europe’s top scorer and at 29-years-old he’s still got a good few seasons left."

I've always wanted Forlan at Everton but would he go for the money or European football?

No for me, Simply based on the fact he was a total flop in the Premiership with Man United. Forlan is a decent enough player in Spain but if he could not make it in a very good United side, what chance would he have to impress at Goodison??

Is he availlable on a Bosman? If so, than yes please. Otherwise I'd rather see our money spend on other positions.

This.

It's quite possible that BArcelona will look into signing him, so Forlan rumours are as much unrealistic as they can get...

ROFL @ "I wouldn't take Forlan." It's not even a matter of whether or not we "want" him as Forlan is way, waaay above us at this point. And yes, he'd be a smashing signing for us, but the way things have been going for him he will have a 15m pricetag (yes, even at his age). It's rumored that Barca are after him as an Etoo replacement: 32 Goals in 33 league games this season, amazing.

And Lol @"He was a flop at United." He had just come to Europe for the first time and after a bad start didn't improve, but he was nowhere the player at United which he is now. Nowhere close. He's played like a world-class striker these past two seasons.

He seems like a good guy and has prob been the best striker in Spain the past few years. However he might just not be suited for Prem footie and would cost way too much.

Athletico managed to grab the last Champion's League spot - surely he'll fancy a crack at it?... Even if he doesn't, they're about to make a shedload of cash from the competition, so would have no desire whatsoever to flog Europe's top scorer on the cheap.

City, Real or Barce could perhaps afford him - nobody else will fork out the needed money.

Wow, talk about pipe dreaming, besides as said above he was a flop last time he was in the premiership, why risk it again?

why risk it again?!??! he's established now, have you seen his record?

1998–2002 Independiente 80 (37)
2002–2004 Manchester United 63 (10)
2004–2007 Villarreal 103 (54)
2007– Atlético Madrid 69 (48)

he's just getting better and better, plus he's won the top goalscorer in la liga twice and won the european boot twice. Forlan would be a steal, how much are we talking about for him?
