when i was young i was proud to be british, the spirit of honesty,justice and fair play was the resounding echo from the establishment, how things have changed;
Parliment, full of crooks, chancers and ,judgeing by the antics , overgrown flashman wannabes.
The Press, well, what the hell can you say, it was bad enough trying to find a decent journo in the echo, and the papperazzi where shameful. now they are the halycon days.
the Police, no, not the band, the ones who are supposed to catch the bad guys,for the met, see keystone kops. they were rubbish, but at least HONEST.
even the working mans game ,football has been taken over by the corrupt and inept.
and all the while people are crying out for leadership and action, so what do we get?
cameron, clegg and milliband, the unfunny "last of the summer whines" where did it all go so wrong?

We need the good old days back when unions could break governments if they didn't give in to demands for a decent standard of living for workers, and the only celebrities were Hollywood big hitters and sports greats, not some [Poor language removed] who can play the ****ing spoons on Britain's Got [Poor language removed].

*and breathe*

I vote davek.

While I'd wholly agree with you, I'd tend also to think that things have become alot more transparent, and where we would have been shielded from the worst in the past, it's now much much harder to cover up.
