Well done Faddy for getting into the green mate(y)

Brian Labone, simple as that, he was a great player, ambassador and as complete an Evertonian as you can imagine on top of which he was also a thorough gent

Mark van Bommel. Came through the ranks at Fortuna. Did play a big part in keeping tham afloat at the end of last season. Arranged a friendly between Fortuna and Bayern Munich, completely free of charge, with all the revenues going towards his old club.

Also set up a lottery together with his father. Lots of prices, from old Fortuna shirts to signed Bayern Munich, PSV, Barcelona and Dutch national team shirts. Very down to earth guy also, never afraid to take some time talking to his fans.

Paolo Di Canio. Bad rep, heart of gold as shown when catching the ball instead of scoring when Paul Gerrard was injured. Fantastic centre forward, incredible skill and his autobiog is one of my favourite books! Love the fella, wish he could have played for us!

DiCanio was definitely an enigma in just about every sense of the word...never knew what he was gonna' do. Bit like Duncan really.

Give Di Canio a mention for stopping a certain goal when our keeper was lain out injured, he could of scored, but fair play he did the right thing.

Have to give one Diego Armando Maradona a mention, OK, he's not exactly whiter than white, and the epitome of all that is good with football, but for pure soccer genius and leadership/motivation the guy was unparalleled in terms of ability and what he could do with a ball.

I was fortunate enough to see him play live, the 1986 World Cup final, of all places, he did not score that day, but without him, there is no way Argentina would of won the world cup with the team they had, nearly repeating it four years later, but fell just short.

Without wanting to sound too biased, but William Ralph Dean, get's a mention, a true professional, never sent off, or booked even I think, and this was in the day when defenders make todays counterparts look like Doris Day.

A true legend of the game if ever there was one.

I was aware of that, Lineker was a nice guy, didn't have a face for mischief, and was a damn fine striker too.

But Dean's record takes on a greater significance, due to a number of elements.
