Flowers for Howard Kendall

I said last year that the very least the club could do was commission a statue for our 'holy trinity' of ball, Harvey and Kendall. Sadly another one of those icons has been taken from us and I'm not sure how Colin Harvey would feel if a statue was commissioned with his two teammates no longer with us. As has already been discussed, we could possibly name a stand after Howard. But maybe the club is waiting for a new ground move, before naming stands after former icons of the club.

I think Harvey would be honoured.

The club should have a Holy Trinity statue at Goodison - Utd have a Best/Charlton/Law one at Old Trafford & West Ham have their World Cup winners one near their ground.

I think it would be great to honour Harvey whilst he's still with us, and show him how much he means to us. I think the loss of Kendall & before that Ball has heightened the sense of cherishing our heroes whilst we've still got them.

Really nice idea - I'd be inclined to suggest holding fire for the time being and waiting on plans being announced.

Perhaps a GOT initiative could be towards a lasting tribute? Whether that's a statue, Park End rename or something else?

Alternatively a contribution to EITC ? However I agree with you, we should be driven by the wishes of the family.

Should we try to get this going?

Think it is great mate that you are keen to see a contribution from GOT members to Howard's funeral.

His family have asked the following:

Howard’s family have requested that rather than floral tributes, donations be made to two nominated charities, the details of which are below.

Stick ’n’ Step provides free specialist conductive education and support services to children with cerebral palsy and their families and carers. We welcome children from all over the North West of England and North Wales.

You can make a donation online here, by phone on 0300 790 0444 or by post to Arthritis Research UK, Copeman House, St Mary’s Court, St Mary’s Gate, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, S41 7TD (cheques made payable to Arthritis Research UK). Please indicate that your donation has been made in memory of Howard Kendall.

I've not spoken to @GrandOldTeam about this but it seems individual donations to either of the two charities is the preferred and most efficient way of giving in Howard's memory.

Perhaps a donation of £18.78 or multiples of that depending upon affordability may be a nice idea?
