Me fella. Archetypal Film-Noir for me. My favourite genre (I know it's an iffy shout calling it a genre) it still gets my blood pumping watching it.

Has anybody mentioned Citizen Kane or Metropolis yet? Some people take a swipe at Kane but it is a magnificent piece of filmmaking.

Not seen that one Eggs, on it....

...its doing the rounds on Sky films now. Have seen it in the lists in recent weeks. Passenger ship gets sunk by a U-Boat and the story is all about a lifeboat of survivors. Twist is that one of them is actually the U-Boat captain. Very clever, as is Hitchcock's cameo.

You are a very naughty boy.

Downloaded free of charge. My excuse is Criterion do not ship to the UK..

They do via a Yankee bookstore iirc, but they're region specific, sucks so much that we can't access their catalogue without hassle :)
Just watched Rififi for the first time. Good, but not amongst the best in the genre.
