Fish Keeping.

Does anybody keep fish and if so what type ie marine freshwater or goldfish

I'm a big fresh water hobbyist.. Don't have any now cuz when I moved to Cali I got rid of them. :( Back in OH now and soon will have another set up.. I like African Cichlids/ South American Cichlids.. ( I dont mix them though ) "some people do"

well i am just in the middle of setting up a lake malawi style tank looking at mbuma does that sound right

yep sounds right.. These fish get big it's reccomended that you have at the very least a 75 gallon tank, with plenty of cave like hiding places.. Big= 5-7 inches. .. They are also very aggresive and dont do well with many other types of fish.. Good luck setting up mate..

yeah got loads of caves and hiding places sorted out looks boss gonna start getting fish over weekend. Its 190 litres (trigon 190) any recommendations fish wise looking for nice colourfull ones

thats what's great about African Cic's, they come in all types of colors.. just have to find the best stores.. I would recommend introducing your fish slowly so you don't shock the biological make up of your tank.. And so you don't create a stressful environment..

yeah was gonna do this however got a nice start as i am using a external filter which has been running a freswater community for the last 4 months

so you have a nice biological make-up.. I would still advise adding fish in groups of 3, 4 at the most.. I would take your community fish out obviously before adding Africans, the Africans will wreck their little faces..
 

I used to have loads of fish, goldfish and such, but my cats ate them. :/

I want a massive tank with tropical fish in though :D

yeah got 1 discus left now which is going tp go to oasis aquarium in manchester at the weekend then will be looking to add 3-4 weekly like you suggessted. Looking forward to it tbh
