It's not prevalent around here, unlike Mexican food...so it's like treating yourself. Maybe not so much for you, being on the coast. We need a food exchange program. Trade Mexican for UK fish and chips.

Yeah...same here really. LOVE me some Mexican food though. I know a couple places in Phoenix...my parents and brother live there. There's a place called The Codfather...not sure what part of the valley you're in.

Fiver on Wednesdays, about 7 quid rest of the time. They do cook everything fresh when you order it though to be fair and they are the nicest fish & chips I've ever eaten by several miles.

Arcadia area...East Phoenix/Scottsdale. Pete's has been here for like 50 years and that's my go-to for fast stuff and it's only about 2 miles from me. Been a long time since I've been in one but I do remember the unfortunately-named Red Robin had a decent version. Liking the name of the Codfather there...sounds like a sit down place, no? I work in the East Valley though, so might be able to check it out on the way home one day. Ah, it's up on Bell and 16th St which is a bit of a trek.

East Yorkshire is the best place in the world for the national dish, Scarborough and Bridlington areas have the best chippies in the land, averages £5/£6 and the standard fish are the size of your forearm.
