Well, my Mum actually bought it for me.
Off you go.
My first proper music purchases were..
Single - nirvana in bloom
Album - rage against the machine.
I think the first cd i remember my mum buying me wasAh, cant get out of it with "first proper".
My "first proper", I think, was either David Watts by The Jam, Hanging on the Telephone by Blondie, or Something Else by The Pistols.
The first one I actually bought, on my own with my own money, was Mull of Kintyre by Wings, I think.
edit. Was defo the Wings one. Was 12. So probably had a paper round or had saved my pocket money.
There is some arguing about mine.
I say it was Beastie Boys - She's on it (still own the 7", classic)

My mum says it was Tone Loc - Wild Thing (no longer in possession, unlikely)

My dad insists it was The Final Countdown by Europe, which to be honest is the most likely.

For our younger viewers, a biro was always useful with those.
It is called a Tape Cassette.
And it is what used to go in those strange holes in the dash board of an older car you might have.
