My first proper music purchases were..

Single - nirvana in bloom

Album - rage against the machine.

Ah, cant get out of it with "first proper".

My "first proper", I think, was either David Watts by The Jam, Hanging on the Telephone by Blondie, or Something Else by The Pistols.

The first one I actually bought, on my own with my own money, was Mull of Kintyre by Wings, I think.

edit. Was defo the Wings one. Was 12. So probably had a paper round or had saved my pocket money.

I think the first cd i remember my mum buying me was

I say it was Beastie Boys - She's on it (still own the 7", classic)

My dad insists it was The Final Countdown by Europe, which to be honest is the most likely.

I'm familiar with all of these, but never hear the first one until later. I did get a copy of License to Ill, however. Pretty sure it was bootlegged so it probably looked like this:
