I think it was 1984, a superb year all round, and I got a pair of these little bad boys.

Thanks Santa. I scored some superb toe bungers with them on.

84 was when it all started happening regarding trainer wearing though, probably 'cos our generation grew up in them playing football all the time.
earlier footy playing and general all round ones i had were

mitre munich and mitre all black.
power tunis was also a pair to be seen in.

Those Lendl's would be better with a less chunky sole Reids.

Back in the day they would have been the absolute tits mind.

spent my emergency money when my folks went on holiday on those. the sole is the same as the forest hills an trim trabbs tbh.

adidas trx 10 were also another great pair of joggers, cant find a pic but very similar to my new yorks without the webbing on the sole

'84 was also the year of the golf shoe as in the last year at school you either had a slaz v-neck or a fred perry, farah pants and adidas shoes, being either korsica, tenerife, palermo or ibiza. dark tan korsica being my lace up choice.
great year '84, left school, lifted the cup, blazin' hot summer, australian by l'alpina t-shirts, ellesse, fila bj's, s.t. trackie bottoms, all the gear and £26.50 of yts money in my pocket

Samba is always the best for soccer.

They were indeed great days though for foot fashion.

Still got two pair one white one black Thats all I wear around and they look as cool now as they did back in the day. I flirted with a diadora indoor shoe for a season but all my indoor games and coaching the Samba has always been king.

Playing Tennis Stan Smiths have been around for a long time. I had those Lendl's also but Stans the man.

Makes me a adidas fan. Never liked Nike's

Funny you say that Reidy but all my outdoorsey work I still use my 80's originals they have hung on that long. Nearly twenty five years or so. Little dog eared and a dab of paint on them but who cares they are comfitable to me. I've tossed a few others after them that didn't cut the mustard.(y)
