Said earlier in this thread that is start with one of Ross or Rom on the bench anyway. No matter what team we start this game will be tight. What is important is who we can bring off the bench. Coleman is a big miss I grant you that but I have to say, from a tactical punt of view, this won't necessarily hamper what I would perceive as the best approach.

yep, might just have to hang in there first half and keep them out and then step it up with our excellent subs in 2nd half

No way would I play Stones at RB. If Coleman is out then I think 3 across the back with Baines on left and probably McGeady as a right wing back.

Too hard to guess though as we don't know how fit the various players are who have returned late or are injured are/will be by next week.

Think is rather Pienaar at RWB.

Besic to come on as a sub. If Lukaku/Mirallas/Coleman don't play then FUUUUME

Lukaku and Mirallas will play. If they don't play at Leicester then how are they any better off for Chelsea/Arsenal?

Hibbert will also play. He's our back-up right back. No manager is going to play a centre back or a newly signed centre mid there when he has a fully fit full back to choose who's played the whole pre-season and is the most experienced player in the squad. Which is a shame because he's wet kack.

After that it picks itself. Same as last year with bench cameos from some players such as Gibson and Besic.

I think all this talk of Lukaku and Mirallas not being ready must be rubbish.

Howard
Stones Jagielka Distin Baines
McCarthy Barry
Mirallas - Barkley - Pienaar
Lukaku

I think it will be that team with Atsu and Besic to come on however I think we should play with Besic and drop Pienaar and play a diamond.

I'm not sure how long Barry will keep his place with Besic nipping at his heels. Besic has been the better player in preseason, but I do expect Barry to start vs Leicester.

I think it's disgraceful that our two biggest attacking threats are supposedly not ready due to the World Cup. Our squad is so thin going forward anyway that for national team duty to affect our first game of the season in that way is very poor.

Basically we won't beat Leicester with the team we have and no Coleman also as hibbert makes us dodgy at the back and Naismith is not a lead the line striker. They'll be well up for it

We need to win this Leicester game just to be guaranteed being in the same position after 3 games as last season (3 points) - we are definitely capable of beating Chelsea and or arsenal but I wouldn't exactly bet the house on it just because of the teams they are.

I got into the World Cup this year, but it's things like this that make me really hate it again- it (along with other international tournaments) destroyed Cahill for us again at a time when we didn't really have a replacement.

I hope this 'another striker' mentioned by Greg o keefe comes in this week.

1 - 3 to Everton. Lukaku x2 and Barkley.

I dunno, perhaps an extra seven days preparation between Leicester and Arsenal?

I would like them to start yet I am sure Roberto knows best.

We must look at the long term effects of bringing them back too early, rather than simply focusing one one game.
