First Choice Back Four?

We have got a few defenders now: Hibbert, Heitinga, Yobo, Distin, Baines, Neill, Jagielka, Duffy, Coleman, Mustafi, Neville, and even Gosling has looked comfortable at right back.

Besides Gosling and Neville, Heitinga is the only one likely to play anywhere other than back four.

Who will be the first choice back four once all are fit and available for selection is anyone's guess!

Heitinga - Jagielka - Distin - Baines, anyone?

Would love for Moyes to try Dan Gosling at RB a bit more. He did very well against AEK on Thursday, although the opposition was awful.

Agreed, I thought he linked very well with Pienaar, it gave us a bit of what we have had down the left for a while now, and Billy and Baines would continue the left side threat, good balance.

think youve got it pretty much spot on.

also, i would like to think gosling can play there abit more now. he's better than hibbert because he can actually get forward and pass the ball

Hibbert is still our best right back in my opinion regarding defending, so I expect him to keep his place for now.

I just think Hibbert's positional sense when defending is awful, and we now have better options. Moyes has been looking to sign a right back (eg Naughton) for a reason. Hibbert may continue for the next couple of games but I think its going to be Johnny before long.

My first choices would be

a players) Jags, Baines, Neill
b players) Distin, Yobo, Heitinga, Neville, Gosling
c players) Hibbert, Duffy, Coleman, Mustafi

so all of column A, a little of column B and Column C just in case

if Heitinga is in the midfield, Neill to RB
either Yobo or Distin CB with jags but i think Yobo's a touch better

i'm loving our depth in defense

I would say this defence line is probably our best, I feel Hibbert has his chance now and Gosling and Heitinga should be given a short run to see if they are better.

I would be disappointed if Hibbert is starting against Blackburn, and hopfully Billy would be back for this match as well.

Heitinga, Neill and Gosling can all do a job at right back. Even Neville when he's back.

Theres no excuse to persist Hibbert.

Hibbert has the Gods on his side, I fully expect Heitinga, Neil and Gosling to all pick up injurys shortly, leaving Hibbert to again play.

Witch Doctor is Hibbert, voodoo dolls the lot.

My personal preference would be Neville/Neill/Gosling, Jagielka, Yobo, Baines.

Really hope Heitinga makes an impression as a DM, in Neville's absence, as I certainly don't rate him as a RB.
