That's exactly the wife's first car. She still has it.

they say a car should de-value at £1,000 a year on average.

So if you buy a new car for £12 grand and it lasts 12 years, youve done well.

Buy a banger for £1,200 and it lasts you 2 yrars, your up.

Buy a new Proton Gen-2 for £8,000, trade it in after 2 years and get £2,700 for it.
Ouch

is that the old vauxhall shove it ??? ( chevette )

Yeah that's defo a Chevette
Yep. It was so bad it had a Fred Flintstone style hole in the floor, and started and went uphill only when IT wanted to.

To get in, as the door locks were on perma-strike, you had to open the boot and undo the doors with what can only be described as 'a big stick'.

Despite this it had an alarm.

A 1972 Plymouth Duster, granny style with the slant 6. Man, that was bullet-proof.

Same colour, but with the faux snake-skin roof. Man, the things my girlfriend and I did in that car. I miss bench seats.

This was Al Bundy's car in Married With Children, wasn't it? He called it 'the Dodge' but it was actually a Plymouth Duster.
