Finishing 6th

Where that from fisherman?? I think your wrong.

It's hard to tell for sure because UEFA are fits and keep changing it around but reidy posted a link from last season when it was stoke/man city and that said the same thing as fisherman.

If the winners qualify for champs league the fa cup spot goes to the runners up, if the winners have qualified for Europa league it goes to league placing.

So it seems that we need whoever wins out of spurs Chelsea to also finish fourth to guarantee a Europa spot if we get to the final.

Maybe till UEFA change their minds again.

As well as being presented with the trophy, the winning team also qualifies for the UEFA Europa League (formerly named the UEFA Cup). If the winners have already qualified for the UEFA Champions League via the Premier League, the UEFA Europa League place goes to the FA Cup runners-up.[6] If the winners have also qualified for the Europa League through finishing fifth in the Premier League, the FA Cup runners-up do not qualify, with the sixth placed team in the league receiving the Europa League place.[6] If the runners-up have also qualified for the UEFA Champions League or are not entitled to play in UEFA competitions for any reason, the place goes to the next highest placed finisher in the league table. The FA Cup winners also qualify for the single-match FA Community Shield against the Premier League Champions.

Oh. I dislike this.

Lets try our best to keep hold of seventh. The poo flingers are 10 points in front, We have to go to United, and we have a tricky away at Stoke.

Ok, so we can't get 6th, realistically anyway. So where does that leave us. There is a Europa place for 5th place in the league and our neighbours have a Europa place for the league cup win, leaving one place left which will go to the winners / finalists of the FA cup. If both teams in the final have already qualified then 6 th place will get it.

So because we can't realistically get 6th we cannot qualify for Europe without winning the semi. So.......

COYB.

Edit. Above seems to say winners must be in top 4 for finalists to qualify.....could be pants for us. Unless we win it.

COYB (again)

what a right conundrem, in the semi we could be cheering spurs on if they're gunna finish 4th, just so we get guaranteed a europa league spot even though they'll be a tougher prospect in the final. We could also be cheering this outcome then all of a sudden they let it slip in the league and end up 5th and then we'll have to win the final then for europe against IMO the hardest team of the two. could be a right old topsey turvey finish to the season.

lets just bring the cup home lads, easy solution

Have to disagree with that. Chelsea have experienced a revival under Di Matteo and their team is full of big game players. Lampard, Essien, Cech, Terry, Cole, Drogba etc.

Spurs have played well this season but they seem to be running out of steam a bit and i'd fancy our chances against them more than Chelski.
