Player Valuation: £950k
Hey everyone, heard something about the possibility of some kind of financial fair play or salary cap being introduce to the league next season.

Just wanted to know some of your thoughts on the subject. Would it be a good or a bad thing for us??

Financial Fair Play rules is nice-sounding scam designed to keep Man Utd as perpetual champions and prevent "new money" like Man City - or even ourselves should we ever divest ourselves of BK - from winning anything meaningful ever again.

Would be amazing if football players were payed £5000 a week maximum. But it's never going to happen.
I think it's a disgrace the amount of money they are payed, even the manager. As much I love football, I would have thought by now that there would be some change. The footballing world need a kick up the backside.

Im not very good with finances buti think some kind of regulation would help us.

There would be more emphasis on youth development, which we are good at IMO. That would mean that not every club in the league would be able to spend 50M + every summer and that would really help us gain some ground on some of the top clubs.

I think player's prices would go down which would hopefuly allow us to be more competitive in the market.

I could be way off though

You are way off mate...

The big clubs with big stadia, high turnover and dodgy sponsorship deals will still be able to spend big money summer after summer.

Yep most player prices will prob go down meaning are player sales income will drop considerably.

It all boils down to nothing will change for the top teams. But the monopoly will never change because NO more will a rich owner be able to come in (city style) and put ur club top of the table.

Something needs to be done but I don't think this Is it...

There will also be ways around this, since a club can own other things and thereby get income to the club that can be made to improve the squad.

If a new owener decides to build a new stadium for his own money FA can't say much about it.. it's his money so he can do whatever he wants with it. When it is finished he can then sell it to the club for say £1 and they will have gotten a new stadium for free. Then they can sell the previous one to earn a few pounds, have a new larger stadium and earn more money. The owner can also decide to buy the old stadium for say £150M (nothing in the rules that forbids someone to pay too much for something) that the club can use to improve the club. The same can be done with merchanthouses, shops and everything else around the club.

The rich and powerful will always be able to find these loopholes and continue to pump millions of pounds into their club to help them along.

There is no way any financial fair play rule will bar any team such as Manure, Citeh, Chelsea, Real Madrid or Barcelona from competing in a competition.

Whenever FFP comes up, I immediately think of Citeh's "naming rights" deal for the Etihad, for which they receive £15m per year. This is legit and comes under the club's official income, despite Citeh and Etihad sharing a common ownership. So that's one Jack Rodwell per year that they can pay for because one foreign company is paying into another. The big-swinging-dicks will always find ways around any footballing protocol that Platini wants to put in place, and we won't be any better off for its implementation.

Yes I think you are.

I didn't think about the consequences it would have for United. Pretty crap.....

Well, think of the consequences for our worldwide superstar neighbours.... Consipracy theory i know but i Wonder if they have some kind of hand in this along with united etc? It's good for UEFA and our FA to have a team with their history and trophies competing at the highest level and this would definitely help them get back there

Financial Fair Play is pointless. Did you see they clubs they fined recently?

I didn't see any "fair play" in it, except for fining clubs for matters that should be dealt with via different avenues. There was no PSG, Anzi, Chelsea or Man City near the list.

Ok I was way off... but, still something needs to be done. What about a reasonable Salary Cap? Someway the game needs to be fair and equal for everyone.

Would need to be agreed internationally, at least across UEFA, I can't see the Premier League or the FA making one whilst Spain, Italy and France aren't. Even so would the richer clubs agree to it, or would they threaten to break away and create their own league again?
