Just listened to echo pod and they seemed almost accepting that it’s going to be the Monday night, with Everton just waiting for a licence to sell beer until 11:30 pm which is causing delay to announcement. That would be crap. Especially for families who take young kids
Can’t imagine that’s what’s causing the delay, if it’s Monday it’s because sky have decided it is - they won’t care whether we get the licence or not they’ll announce it when they want to.

About 3 weeks ago I got told (probably absolutely nothing new here!)

The club had been pushing for the Monday for weeks, because they feared the crowds if on a weekend. Don't think they're bothered if ifs televised or not.

Worried about people bunking (it hadn't crossed my mind until someone mentioned it, now I hear people causally discussing).

Worried about overcrowding, a Monday night seemingly prevents any non-local blues, and younger blues from making trip without tickets.

Sad state of affairs and not the most fitting way to close out the old lady.

Seeing the video recently of the vlogger walking around Goodison towards the end of the derby, and seeing just how easy it was to get inside at the end - I can see why overcrowding is a concern.

Security should/will be much tighter, but still...

That wouldn't really tally up with what we know as a fact to be fair (that the club has applied to sell alcohol for 90 minutes after the final whistle, which they can't do on a Monday night).

There has to be a perimeter with ticket checks to even get near the stadium.

It's going to be chaos this, i've already heard of several people making plans to bunk in. Im getting in the ground as soon as the turnstiles open.

Said this to the lads next to me on Saturday. I probably would have got there early regardless, but can't be bothered with someone tool being in my seat and refusing to move.

Given the lack of authority from some of the stewards, I can't imagine many will have issue jumping through.

You'll never be able to implement that though, people literally live metres from the stadium.

Who's to determine who can, and can not walk around the perimeter of the stadium?
Exactly. Plus people who can't get tickets will want to watch the game in the likes of the Winslow etc and be around the outside of the ground. Setting up a perimeter around would actually cause more crowd volume problems than without and would make things much more difficult for people with tickets to get to the ground
