I'm filling up my rental list on my Lovefilm account and am looking for recommendations and suggestions from anyone interested in contributing.

Don't just throw a title at me though, sell it to me, show some passion.

I'm not sure if Lovefilm do them. I'll have to go check....

...actually, it's a waste of my entitlement for the twenty seconds or so viewing they'd get.

I can recommend some films that will keep you going for a lot longer, mate. The initial disgust/subsequent vomiting will help stretch out the experience.

Some good films:

brick.jpg

High school detective story about a stolen brick of heroin. It's totally fricking awesome and stars the totally fricking awesome Joseph Gordon Levitt (of Inception and 500 Days of summer).

220px-Michael_clayton.jpg

Excellent George Clooney film featuring an Oscar winning turn by Tilda Swinton but the real star of the show is Tom Wilkinson. Story revolves a law firms 'fixer' who has to deal with his rogue friend who threatens to reveal the wrongdoings of the firms biggest client.

Excellent performances from Kevin Spacey, Russel Crowe and Guy Pearce in a sprawling crime drama set in 50s L.A

You've got to narrow that down FFS!

FFS what genre are you looking for FFS?

FFS!

Watch "4 Lions" mate.

"Limitless" was pretty good. "Due Date" not bad either.

"The Green Hornet" is simply brilliant. Comedy.

Leon.jpg

'Leon', Great direction, star turns, good story, comedy moments, one of those rare things - has it all.

Deep-Cover.jpg

'Deep Cover', Gritty drugs drama, tense and comic, before ultra-cheese-summer-blockbusters ruined them (Goldblum, Fishburn) both.

battle_royale1.jpg

'Battle Royale', Think 'lord of the flies' but a bit older and with more weapons.

FinalHobomondo%20poster.jpeg

'Hobo with a shotgun', Dark, daft, 'grindhouse', splatterfest with just a touch of Roy Batty shining through.

One%20Flew%20over%20the%20Cuckoos%20Nest%20BLU-RAY.jpg

5 Academy awards, Jack Nicholson. Dont need to say anymore.

2001Title6x4.jpg

The most original and groundbreaking sci-fi movie ever made. Put your thinking cap on, unplug the phone and get it done.

FFS!

FFS. I'm easy going. Prefer foreign stuff, arthouse and intelligent drama. Stuff that makes you think.
And anything with birds getting their norks out.

Liking your recommendations H&E. Can't praise Leon enough, Deep Cover awesome, Cuckoo's Nest a classic, Hobo with a Shotgun is on the list.

2001 though. A bit meh. I get slaughtered for this frequently, but I really don't get on with Kubrick stuff. It looks magnificent, but my word it's slow.

In that case,

La Haine, (French)

District 13 (French)

City of God (Brazilian)

Taken ( in English, but French funded I think)

4 Lions ( a proper thinker, English )

Brick is ace, great shout for a thread of this ilk. Not enough people have seen it. Michael Clayton was decent enough, if not a little slow paced. LA Confidential; wonderful, wonderful film.
