Any of you even aware this is currently taking place? And right here in Canada?

This is the tournament at which, 2 years ago, Messi burst into prominence. Seems that the countries who played in Euro U21 are missing, but all the other usual suspects are here.

Just wondering if any of you in the UK, USA, etc. are aware.

Attrottel - you must know as Austria are here, in fact playing Canada soon (now there's a guaranteed quality game :dodgy: ).

dude.. i'm well into it! the koreans are mad for it. you would have thought it was the proper world cup all over again. they lost yesterday 3-2 to brazil. korea scored 2 goals in the last 10 mins and had 5 mins to find the equalizer. it was exciting stuff. they have to beat poland in the last game and hope the u.s.a beat brazil to get to the last 16. sell out crowds over there. i'm impressed with the canadian turn out. every game seems like a sell out.

the under 17 world cup kicks off right here in korea next month. england are in north korea's group alongside brazil. i'll keep you all posted!

Surprised he hasn't moved to Europe yet as it can't be helping his development playing in America when his peers like Messi are playing against the best each week.

Teppic - you are way ahead of me - even though every game is shown live here, I've hardly watched (although I have tickets for one of the semi-finals). Guess I'll have to start watching some of the games. I'd really like a surprise winner - we'll see.

Japan are doing well aren't they?

their goal celebrations are taken from a famous fitness video out here

korea drew 1-1 with poland and are out!:( usa did their bit and beat brazil. the usa look really good in this tournament.

Yeah, it was weird - it would not let me post, whstever I clicked that message came up in a msgbox - then eventually my browser crashed, and until now I hadn't gone back to see what happened.

Knock out rounds have been pretty good so far. Watched USA v Uraguay, Mexico v Congo and Argentina v Poland (probably climb in bed and watch the last one too, Nigeria v ???).

I have tickets for the semi on Thursday - Argentina vs. Chile. Question: who do I support? A mate at work is Argentinian, and normally I would back Chile just to rile him. But he is so broken up about the Copa America final, not sure I have the heart to do so this time.

Disgraceful behaviour. And the Chilean players and staff should be sanctioned accordingly.

BUT....

The referee should also be punished - worst display since Poll at the World Cup last year, and 90% of his poor decisions went against Chile. He either hates Chileans or was paid off.

But of course no action is ever taken against refs no matter how they screw up the game.
