FIFA right now is as close to Sensible World of Soccer as we'll ever get.

Play the game.
Buy and sell players.
Get job offers.

A football game doesn't need any more for me.

My favorite aspect of the game is developing high potential players. You can send players on loan to move them up 1 level of potential, i.e., no level to "Showing Great Potential" to "Exciting Prospect" to "Has Potential to Be Special." But once you do that 1 loan and get that 1 bump in potential, there is no benefit to loans and subsequent loans can actually remove the increase to potential.

Back in the good ole days, you could buy coaches to increase player development and could focus development points into specific aspects of a players skills. That was fun. I miss it.

On player career mode - my issues that could use fixing.

1 - Striker stockpiling -on my Everton saga, as our starting striker, the team busted the budget on successive windows for more strikers. 12m on a player, Waris, who never started over Vellios, followed by another 15m striker the start of the next season. Had me, Mitroglou, Waris, Vellios, Kone, McAleny, Hope... but a decimated midfield and backline which saw my best players (Stones, Baines) transfer listed.

2 - Playing. 1860 Munich, started 3 careers. Kept getting the "you're in next match" emails from the manager. Never played. Simmed through two seasons. Even after a loan spell at Charlton and starting for the USMNT at the World Cup, the entire second season still never saw me play. WTF?

3 - Transfers - would be great if more variety showed up. As a mid-70s CAM (not) playing for 1860, would have been nice to see something other than Man u/City/Chelski/Barca/RMadred/Juve. Simulating six different windows at the same spot, Lazio and Spurs were the "smallest" offers I got.

COmpare this to Manager Mode, where Lukaku was valued at 45m for me, and I was receiving offers from all over. Soton? Sunderland? On top of the big squads.

Not everyone wants to play for a Goliath, some of us would rather slay Goliaths.

Even the TV-view of Goodison is wrong in 14

The reason for that is because the managers backs are the only thing visible so you couldn't have a front view of the technical box as they haven't made one.

I play the career mode but with my virtual pro, there needs to be a feature where you can tell the manager you are unhappy with his substitutions, being taken off every game, and put in a transfer request.

Also, I think when the virtual pro goes off, the rest of the game should besimmed and they should introduce a feature were a virtual pro can start the game on the Bench.

Anyway, I'm fuming with the new FIFA game as the crowd don't bow to Barkley when he has the ball. That bloody Hodgson is a swine.

I bought FIFA 14 and have barely played it. I won't be buying the new one 14 has plenty of life in it. FM is for transfers and all the rest, FIFA is for playing togger.

I haven't had 14 for long and have barely played it, started the WC Ultimate Team the other night and am already bored as fck with that.

All the cosmetic stuff is very nice but ultimately it's got to be about the gameplay on the field. This is where ProEvo used to excel. Kind of wish they would sort the licensing out for player names etc as I would go back to PES.

I think they are milking it now and like someone said, it should start becoming DLC instead of a full new game every year.

Any computer game I play has to have 1 basic requirement, that being the possibility that an online player has a full on meltdown and screams and shouts abuse at me, preferably in some crazy foreign language. GTA is great for it, I tend to find the FIFA fumers just send a nasty message after the game has finished, at which point I usually declare my love for them.

I don't really do much online multiplayer gaming. quite happy playing on my own. I do remember getting a mouthfull off some American dude when on CoD at my mates house once because I kept getting shot far too easily. haha people take gaming far too seriously. Give him a real SA80 or gun of choice and he'd probably piss his knickers.
