Fernandes-Deal Done

Bill I believe if this does have any legs. Loan only I can't see him staying but you never know. I truley believe will be looking at two world class signings in the summer and both will be midfielders.

Oh I think he'd only be coming over on loan as well. No way Moyes is outright buying him at this juncture.

Loan is the prudent (and only) way to go right now.

Prudent Moyes won't excite many this go round. Some may note a lack of transfer budget but he won't get into a bidding war or stopgap approach for a position. He will size up this year and go after who he thinks will bolster this squad with little locker room trouble. He goes after players that run their socks off, play multiple positions and have little if any personal troubles.

The nite club incident has me wondering if Davey will extend a olive branch to Manny now with the trouble he had with VDM. I'm sure Ross may be doing most of the work to get him and may have to make Moyes totally convinced that he can make a difference for this squad. He deffo has the talent but does he have the work rate that Moyes enjoys that is the question. Most fans seem divided on this issue.

Is Fernandes heading back to Everton?
There has been ripe speculation surrounding Everton and Valencia over a potential move for Portuguese international midfielder Manuel Fernandes but reports are contradictory which has sparked comment from David Moyes, and then more speculation and then a run in with Spanish police to boot.

Fernandes angered Everton supporters over them summer when the then Benfica player grew tired of Everton’s dilly-dallying and decided to sign for Valencia instead. The move has not turned out so well for the talented player and a move back to Everton was apparently awaiting a signature until, it appears, Spanish police have told the player he cannot leave the country while an investigation takes place. He also angered Benfica supporters when he promised he would stay.

Some reports have him stealing a watch, others vomiting in public, others after an argument in a nightclub. If anything, it appears English speaking newspapers should invest in some better translators.

Another report suggests that Fernandes is free without charge, but that no deal is actually in place. And yet another report suggests that no discussions have taken place at all.

What to believe? How about none of it.

The only thing we do know is that Valencia want to sell. Sporting Director Miguel Angel Ruiz has publically commented that he wants to transfer the 12m pound player.

He’s available: that much we know.

Moyes, for his part has rejected the speculation which appears to indicate that it’s the press inventing this, or is it the fans that want the player.

Any way you look at it, he was good, wasn’t? Fernandes made a mistake not being patient and joining Everton. People make mistakes, the fans appear ready to forgive, and he appears ready to sign. Will Moyes and the board agree? The only thing left is the very fickle Everton transfer policies

Are you getting bored with all this shiit yet???? Know that i am.

When you look at the allegations do we really want this player? It is enough with that piss artist VDM picking up tens of thousands per week for what.

As for TX thinking Manny is the best thing since sliced bread, he also endorsed the return of Gravesen as I recall. Hurmmph.

I am too. I'd like to see a player of his calibre come in, and if its him then so be it. But after all the [Poor language removed] about last year and again now i'd rather we just forgot about it, he isn't worth going through all the same [Poor language removed] with again.

Link to Gravesen's endorsement please.

However, I do believe that Gravesen's loan was a good idea as we were competing on four different fronts and squad depth was and is an issue.

If only Fernandes came to us as well in the summer, what would it be like our first half of the season, could we have gotten more win?

Gravesen to me has passed he only looks good enough to play for the reserve, on his good day he is still reasonable against a weak team, like today we are so short on midfielder yet, he still fail to hold down a place.

Its all ifs and buts maybe if fernandes was signed in the summer pienaar would not have played.
I don,t rate fernandes that highly he looks a good prospect and we need the cover in midfield but i would a more experienced player in there somebody who is ready now and class
