Manuel Fernandes believes Benfica are the stronger side going into Thursday's Europa League tie with Everton.
Fernandes, who has played for both Everton and the The Eagles of Benfica, told Correio Sport: "Benfica have a very strong attack, control the ball better and attack from all sides. They are the most exciting team in Portugal.
"You can not overlook the counter-attack from Everton. Everton retrieves the ball well and goes very fast forward."
The midfielder, currently with Valencia, also revealed he'd be rooting for the Portuguese side when the sides meet as "It will always be the club of my heart."
When asked what he'd learnt during his time in England, Manny replied: "I matured. Living away from home so young, and being so close to my family, made me grow.
"English football is well organized, and it taught me to be better player. I was faster, stronger and more alert. The English fans also give life lessons, not only for filling the stadiums but unconditional support and respect the players."
