It's not because you're saying the word black. It's because you are broadly painting an entire group of people based on the colour of their skin rather than the quality of their personhood.

Yes, some black people are rioting (the reasons for which are nuanced and varied). That does not make it ok to make statements like:
"The Blacks have been rioting for a week."

Why? Because they haven't. Just like "The Whites" haven't been shooting tear gas at "The Blacks".
