Fellaini

Do you all think he's better behind the striker? I'm still uneasy about him playing there in the future although it was an exceptional performance. Taking nothing away from him last night but i think we should still play him beside Gibson, with Naismith just behind Jelavic. I think he's best when he's breaking up play from the back and then giving him the freedom to come up and cause a nuisance when we are in the final third. The stats from last year show he is an excellent 'defensive minded' midfielder but last night showed that he can exploit teams in a target man type role. It's a great option to have.

I love that he's only 25 ahahahahahahahah. The clubs best asset by far and I can't see him going anywhere after his mate joining.

The lad could play in absolutely any team in Europe and he is a far far better player than Song. Delighted barca had bought Song before the game last night....

Carrick at centre back?! Simples

Our team isn't the paciest, although it might improve a bit with Naismith, Mirallas breaking through. I think Fellaini helps us build attacks when he's played as the AM. He's so great at holding up the ball it gives our players time to push up and support the attack, which would often break down due to lack of support if we didn't have someone as good at hold up play as Fellaini.

Due to the above I think Fellaini's best as an AM against stronger teams, where we'll find it hard to build up attacks. Against weaker teams we'll probably do better with him alongside Gibson and having Mirallas, Naismith behind Jelavic. We normally find it harder to score against the 'so called' weaker teams. Fellaini is great but he's not the best finisher in the world so I'd switch him depending on the quality\style of team we're playing.

I'd agree with that. It's really hard to try and position him as he's great at both things. I think we need him more in midfield more than we need him at AM though. His work rate last night showed that he can be all over the park so giving him that 'free role' like Toure would benefit us in the long run against both the smaller teams. As that's when Toure becomes a destroyer. So Fellaini will be able to destroy teams in both ways.

I think for Jags, Distin and Hetinga to have to train against Fella... this can only be a good thing for the quality of our defense!

Will NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER be worth 15 million.

He is so average it's unbelievable to see.

He doesn't even have any good qualities.

Worth about 5-8 million but because it was last day of the transfer deadline, and Standard didn't want to sell, Everton just said name a price and we'll pay it.

a) because we hadn't spent ANY money at all and Kenwright needed the fans off his back.

b) because he was the only CM available that was abit better then a yard dog like Neville.

Lol...

Defo.

Imagine how many tactical options we'll have if Naismith and Marillas turn out to be good players ....

Fingers crossed.

Still think his best performance was against City at GP where he did "that" turn. He destroyed every single part of that pitch.

Last night came close. But that performance was one of the best, almost complete, I've ever seen in a blue shirt for over a decade.

Definitely. I think he's more influential when he's in the centre of the pitch, for obvious reasons.

I wish we could just clone him though.
