Fellaini

They don't though. Where are his stats for not tracking a runner and putting his defence under strain?

It's not always about putting a tackle in, in can be about preventing the opposition from making a pass because their player is being marked, so they choose to go down a different route etc.

Our defence is much more assured with Neville playing DM and not Fellaini, IMO.

I think that's because Neville only really focuses on defending and closing down people. Fellaini has a much more accomplished game and is a way better passer so links up with attacking play more.

I guess it's all about personal preference. I think Neville gives the ball away more with sloppy passing (he was boss yesterday though) than Fellaini and to me if you don't give it away you don't have to win it back so I'd always play good technical players over a well drilled workhorse.

I wouldn't agree with that at all, I'd prefer him to lose the ball in the oppositions half, rather than on the edge of our 18 yard box.

That's the kind of talk you'd expect if your ACM was crap.

If he's so good there surely we should expect his passing to be good?

Listen, I'm tired of this. You're stuck in your ways and mostly alone in your opinion. That says to me that either you're wrong or you're far more insightful than 99% of the people on here.

I'm sure you think it's the latter, but I don't. And at the moment you can't convince me that he's a better ACM, never mind that he's a poor DM.

 I'm tired of it as well, and you are unable to convince me that he isn't better at ACM, and/or that he should be replacing Neville at DM.

There are at least 2 other people who agree with me, I'd say they represent far more than the 1% that you suggest, given that there is a maximum of 10 people involved in this debate, and that's being generous.

And even if it was 99%, which it isn't, I'd take Moyes opinion over all of them, and he has been choosing to play Fellaini in ACM and Neville in DM for the last few months, and it has been effective as hell!

Everton's Phil Jagielka admits team-mate Marouane Fellaini is "frustrating as hell" for defenders when he displays the form which
caused Manchester United such problems at Goodison Park.

"It's a little bit different in training as you can kick him, pinch him and pull his hair and get away with it but when he is switched on like he was it is nearly impossible to mark him," said the centre-back.

Jags reads 50 Shades of Grey?

Quite a few quotes from Jags and Moyes in this article worth looking into.

I think he should be played in the advanced role when playing Man Utd, City etc as someone who can rough up the opposing defense with his height and physicality. I think when we play teams like Wigan, Stoke and other 'lesser' teams he should play deeper and allow players like Pienaar, Mirallas (hopefully) and Naismith to take the attacking midfield role because they are more creative.

He isn't super-creative, but he's still very good at finding the right pass. Only one of about 5 on Everton that knows how to play the 1-2. If we had 3 Felli's, we'd be unstoppable.

When I left Animal Farm a visitor message asking whether he still thinks Neville is better than Fellaini he replied with this:

"I never said Neville was better than Fellaini, you plank.

I said Neville is a far better defensive midfielder than Fellaini, which he is, as was clearly shown last night.

If you actually think Fellaini is better off in a defensive midfield role, then God help you.

Get a grip!"

You couldn't make it up. I especially like the part in bold.

Bookmarked to cheer me up when I'm having a rough day.

Would be great if there was a highlights video for teh united game like this one here for the City game the other year- think this was his best performance personally:
