In front of the back 4.

Already seen that whilst he can thrive up front, it's often to the detriment of others, such as Jelavic.

LOL

Ah, the old Fellaini ruined Jela arguement, which kinda fell apart for the games Fellaini missed and Jela was still god damn awful.

Deeper. Playing him further forward basically killed Jelavic. Have him deep alongside Gibbo and either push Osman forward or bring someone else in

100% deeper.

I think it was a masterstroke playing him off the striker start of last season and his performance's and goals eluded to that. We were also playing very boss football but mixing it up at times with some direct balls to Fellaini. It was very affective!

Problem was teams cottoned on to it and targeted Fellaini which made him less affective. Mirallas also got injured, and as our form dipped a little we went more and more direct. Moyes eventually changed it and dropped him deeper towards the tail end of season but a little late for me, should of been done earlier.

Has to start next season deeper. Nothing wrong with using him up there as a plan b towards the end of a game at times tho. Un-planned for by the opposition he can be quite a weapon up there!

Deeper for me. I think it was the West Ham game at home, I know it was poor opposition, but he totally dominated the midfield.

When he is up top, it just encouraged our back line to try and hit him at the earliest opportunity.

Fellaini playing up front is a decent option to fall back on odd occasions. He's so dominant playing deeper that it's daft for that not to be where he plays the majority of the time. I fully expect Martinez to take that view as well as I don't think the long punt up field is really his style.

I think Fellaini's gifts are most suited to centre mid. Probably the most important thing in modern football these days is winning midfield. Particularly in the Premier League, you need a certain amount of physicality to be able to do that. How many players are there in the world that are massive, dominant in the air, good technically, not slow and have the stamina of an ancient desert wanderer. Not many. He sorts out midfield, it's just the way it is.

This. A thousand times this.

The only counter argument is "he can play as a 10 because he's boss at chesting down a forty-yard hoof", and I'll take the criticism for saying this but I'm NOT convinced by that counter argument.

Having Felli alongside him makes Gibbo a FAR more effective player: look at the West Ham game last month for the proof.
