He like a poorer version of Stevan Jovetic when he behind the striker. Moyes was trying to mold him into Cahill instead of moving on from Cahill.

Hardly, Jovetic is 6ft, he plays more like Aguero/Suarez, nothing like Fellaini.

Just because of the hair?

he mostly receives the ball with his back to the goal when playing up front and he is to big and slow to turn fast and shoot or dribble -
because he is big and slow he is easy to man mark hanging around up front -
he is great in defence - we started getting clean sheets when he started giving cover to the back four as def mid -

Fails to convince me as a #10 or a Carsley-type defensive mid. I don't think he has the passing ability for an Alonso/Arteta (either long/short) type holding/central midfielder either. He does score goals and he can knock people off the ball, hence his use as last season's battering ram. I would personally prefer him deeper than last season but not deep enough to shoulder any defensive responsibility - in short, out the team.

Yes Marouane making Lukaku look small.

I think Fellaini's gifts are most suited to centre mid. Probably the most important thing in modern football these days is winning midfield. Particularly in the Premier League, you need a certain amount of physicality to be able to do that. How many players are there in the world that are massive, dominant in the air, good technically, not slow and have the stamina of an ancient desert wanderer. Not many. He sorts out midfield, it's just the way it is.

Again, would like him further advanced that Gibson, breaking up play high up the pitch and making runs into the box. He doesn't need to be a pseudo-9 to be effective in attack. We should be playing higher up the pitch against most squads anyway, and if it leaves us exposed at the back, you just move him alongside Gibson.

He needs to be our false left sided right wing back going forward but deep in the middle of the park and up top as a false round the corner left right sided midfielder.

That's where Brenda would play him if he played over there.

As an out & out DM, I think he's wasted & he's not got the passing range to sit there spraying the ball around. Equally as a 'target man' playing off the front man, I think he's only partially utilising his skill set. I think his best position is central midfield with licence to get forward.
