Agreed, but I think we've established that the squad is generally below par. Del can't make it into a below par squad, so in my view he's not a player we should be pinning any future hopes on.

Del may well be involved at the weekend if Lennon is ruled out.

I think Koeman has not been convinced by his midfield since the start of the season.
We know he wanted Witsel, we know he wanted Sissoko and also possibly Carvalho.

When he gets the midfield he really wants and the players that allows him to play the formations he likes best, it is possible that Del may have a greater part to play...that is my hope at least.
