Lookman for me just. Was a handful in the 1st half and did brilliant to win the ball back after Davies gave it away which eventually led to our first goal. Very pleased with Keane, Dowell and Besic. Dowell with 2 pre-season matches, 2 goals and smacked the bar. Hope Dowell will blossom by playing with better players around him because he is comfortable on the eye and can score spectacular goals. Really hope this is his season and so far Koeman must surely be impressed with him.

This Lookman lad to me, is a dilemma, apart from the obvious trouble (his height), I can't make out whether he is going to be a
fabulous player hunted down by the Spanish giants, or just slowly make his way down our league tables. It must be so tough for
a small man to make his mark in the game, when you think about Toure or Matic, powerful men with marvellous skills, the game
must be so much easier for them. The RS have for 60 years chosen the players 'Strong in the Arm, weak in the Head' and have
been successful with it, but will never be remembered for CLASS. I hope Ademola is given the chance to shine, and just maybe
we will have a Lionel?
Some absolute bubbles you've chatted there mate.

There's an obvious vacancy at left back. There's been a lot of focus on Kenny on the other flank, but it will be interesting to see if Connolly is given that responsibility to deputise for Baines.

100%. Unless he's hurt or just goes out of form rapidly, no way Mirallas should be playing ahead of him. And I don't hate Kev. He's just not as good as Lookman at this point. The U20 World Cup seems to have given him a swagger he didn't have last year. The skill was there, but the swagger wasn't. He looks like he wants to dance on the graves of the defenders he is going to smash.

I think you can say that about all the lads who were part of it. They'll all take a lot of confidence and rightly so. Not many footballers, at any age group, get to call themselves world champions.

Cheers for the review Andy. Missed the first quarter of an hour.
Gone for Connolly. Looked assured and put some good crosses in - unfortunately nobody in the middle, which was worrying.
Disappointing but not worrying mate. Rooney was playing up top and I doubt we'll see him there very often this season. He'll probably (assuming we bring another striker in) be 4th choice for that position next season. His natural instinct is to drop deep. A pity we weren't getting those sort of crosses in whilst DCL was on the pitch as he's pretty good in the air.

More worrying to me was why Baines wasn't getting into those crossing positions very often. At the moment I'm outing it down to pre season rustiness. It does take longer to get fit as you get older.

What?. Literally hundreds of players of Lookmans stature have become top footballers over the year mate. Granted it is more difficult in the Premier league than one of the Latin leagues, but still.

It's actually his stature that helps makes him such an exciting player due to his balance and low centre if gravity.

It's nice to know that someone else thinks that he could be Barca or Real bound in the future.

Well if he does it will only be down to him tearing one up for us. And we'll make a packet on it.

Personally I'm looking forward to this kid and the Henry lad terrorising premier defences for years to come.

Up to very recently Jonjoe Kenny was regarded as the next big thing at the club, have people changed their opinion ?

how did our boy Klaassen do?

We have like half a dozen next big things depending on who you ask. Many claim Walsh is the best of the bunch, others Dowell, Kenny seems the most ready to step into a full time role this season and was the best player on the pitch in most of the World Cup games this summer. Lookman is different because we bought him and he went straight into the first team without playing for the u23's, so I'd put him in a different category to the "Next Big Thing" grouping.

18 months ago not many would have said Davies would be the first to break through in a big way, so you just never know.

Played the last 30-35 minutes and there looks to be early signs of a good link-up forming with Rooney.
Had a chance late on with a header that went straight at the 'keeper.

Never mind Klaassen. Buy Wilshere and Delph for £20M, Barkley & Rooney for the best midfield in Britain. Buy Vardy at any price just for 2 or 3 years & keep your eye open for another Class striker and proper goalie. Leighton will have to be replaced in the next couple of years, we badly
need a real right wing-back. Coleman can only be coming back for a job in the backroom. If we don't plug the right back position, we could be
out of next years Champions league within the first 7 league games this year.
