Sell to buy is old school, I mean its so 2015 its laughable, 2016 is here and with it comes 100m TV money, which has yet to be touched with more to come next year.

Net spend should be through the roof for EVERY team this season, we don't even need to get close to spending Moshiri's money, just the TV money would be sexy as hell... Hell even half of it would potentially make a properly impressive window. You say we should bide our time before spending big... Why?
We can spend big every season thanks to Sky, BT etc, Blow 100m? meh, we will get more the year after... Its fine.

That's where we are without any investment... as a club we can do that, we can blow 100m on dross, fail and do it again next year off the back of the TV money. We actually CAN do that, that is how massive this TV deal is.
Yet a quick reality check shows that so far we have spent about what we received for the sale of Stones. relatively zero spend. Its poor... So far.
That's total cods sorry.

There isn't £100m of incremental recenue available to us or any other PL club this season.

Is it out of order to question how the non-existent investment will be structured?

Does anyone know the APR of Moshiri's non-existent loans to Everton?

The new TV deal means we will be receiving circa 100 million a year from TV money. This represents a 25 million pound increase on previous TV income. But there is no denying that we are now receiving 100 million pound a year from TV income alone.

Well the new TV deal might kick in this season, but the cash doesnt till next "summer".
That's a good point tbf.. We should still have plenty of wedge though, without the debts, nearly 30m profit, selling Stones and the money Moshi was going to put in. But yeah next year is when we should be properly minted.

Breaking even still doesn't cut it by a long way though, regardless of who sits on the Everton throne a strong finish to the window is still needed. We had better than this under Bill and Moyes ffs.

Well I know how meaningless net spend is, but under Moyes we spent around 13m over his 11 years, Martinez got around 50m, so far Koeman sits at around break even.

Says everything you need to know about why net spend is the only way to judge spend doesn't it? Though I am reading that as if you think I'm against using net spend as an indicator for some reason.

I think net spend is meaningless in regards to wether the team is improved or not but if you want to compete at the top end of the table you need to regularly have a positive net spend.

I came in late to the discussion, I was just tagging a view onto the end.

A lot of people view net spend as meaningless and theres a lot to be said about that.

Spurs are the classic example, over the last 5 years they have spent minus 12m, we all know why, due to a certain Mr Bale, in that timeframe we have spent 43m and another classic example is the vermin across the park, in the same period they have spent 125m.

In 2011 Spurs were 5th, Vermin 6th and us 7th, so the vermin spent 125m to stay the same, kinda, spurs spent minus 12m to improve and we spent 50m to very much go backwards.

To expand :
Tottenham £274,650,000 £286,950,000 -£12,300,000 2011 5th/2016 3rd
Liverpool £365,600,000 £240,330,000 £125,270,000 2011 6th/2016 8th
Everton £159,800,000 £116,316,000 £43,484,000 2011 7th/2016 11th

We are on the rise under this fella trust me, I ain't no fool and I see the potential this club has now under Moshiri.

Once the new stadium is announced on the docks the pessimists among us will start to believe.

It's coming, we can do a City without waisting half a billion in the process, we as a club are smarter than that.
While I share your enthusiasm with what Moshiri will bring off field, I can't see how we can compete with the Manchester clubs unless he brings in other investors. On field will be the tough ask.

I can't understand probably half of what is written above. What I do know is: Christ I'm looking forward to this season under Koeman.
Our back5 look sound enough, Gaz & Gana fine, Kev, Yannick,Ross & Rom, there aren't too many groups of forwards better.
Without Howard, Hibbert & Stones an extra 15 points, to think Stones funded Yannick,Gana,Ashley & Half of Stek, wonderful. COYB!

Yes, Im really looking forward to the window being closed, and no more transfer discussion. It will be nice to just discuss the play on the field, and hopefully its of the "I dont understand why he did that, but it worked" instead of "I dont understand why he did that".

busquets flatters to decieve tho. im thinking more of a pique type defender, but im not sure he has the mentality for that. only time will tell. be interesting to see what happens. could even end up as the next rodwell. he was signed up by city as 'the nxt big England star'

edit: regards busquets , am i actually being harsh on him, maybe he's the one who does all the boring work for the team, that goes un-noticed

I almost unleashed hell on you...nice edit.
