Osman, Pienaar, and Hibbo going has given us at least 100k/week to play with plus ~135,000/week from the allowed 7 million pounds growth.

That's about 235,000 pounds total to play with.

Kone and McGeady will be on close to 80,000 pounds/week between the two of them as well that we could free up if we get rid.


So we could potentially have approximately 300,000 pounds a week of wage budget to allocate between new signings and new contracts for Barkley, Stones, and Lukaku.

One way to get around all of this is to make the new contracts mostly incentive/bonus based like Man City has been doing (Though they probably have a better likelihood of getting players to sign those contracts as those bonus targets are more realistic for them than our players might see them).

Honestly, given how the FFP limits the club from growing I would look at ways to operate within its boundaries while achieving what we want to. For example, instead of a higher weekly wage give the star players a percentage of their image rights for endorsements/sponsorships etc.

I'm sure that they will be considering all options to move us forward as quickly as possible while remaining within the limits of FFP.

Think that this explains exatly what @The Esk was saying about it being highly likely we decide to sell Lukaku this summer mate, without doing so it really does hamstrign just how many changes we are able to make, and for sure Koeman will want to bring players in not sit their stuffing the money down the back off the sofa next to the Arteta money

We can keep our best players but we can not acquire aggressively at the same time without growing our income. In the absence of growing income (other than broadcasting income) as is likely to be the case in 2016/17 the only other source of income is player trading profits.

This is not something we need do consistently in the future assuming we increase match day/commercial/sponsorship income streams, it's a legacy issue more than anything else.

And the quicker we end that Kitbag deal the quicker we are to grow that merchandising revenue and wage bill to compete at the top.

Also would add Cleverley and one lennon on that list mate, we don't need 3 right wingers - especially when Lennon looks terrible anywhere besides on the right compared to Deulofeu and Mirallas who both can switch effectively, and Cleverley - sorry but just don't see what he is, he's not a left sided mid, hes not a holding mid, not an atatcking mid not good enough to play bang in the centre, he's just one of those players who is equally mediocre in several positions so tends to become a favourite as he can fill in for 3-4 spots

the NFL has a sneaky way around their own FPP - salary cap, incremetal contracts, so for example a player signs a deal for 5 years on 41m total, first year = pays him first season 3m, second 5m, third 8m, fourth season 10m and fifth 15m, front ended with a huge signing on fee say of 10m in that example so effectively his first few years pay are suplemented by that initial signing fee.

can see footy going in a similar way as time goes by if FPP stays in force as its a clever way of maneouvering around it

Mirallas is pretty rarely injured mate tbf, certainly no more than the rest of the squad is, deulofeu similarly, we need and no one argues to sign a left winger anyway dont we?

McGeady never plays so no loss to the squad, Pienaar hasnt played for two years - so no loss in what he brings, Cleverley is useless wide and to think otherwise is mad really, same for Kone, Naisse or any other we have played their

This is daft thinking, though. We have one of the better groups of young players in the league, spending loads to retard their development is daft.

A genuine class midfielder to replace Barry, someone to provide genuine support to Lukaku, a quality keeper and a bit of confidence and we will be more than alright.
