I was honestly questioning myself because I learned accounting across the pond in Canada and I wasn't sure if we were using and operating under different definitions.

Good question. I'd love to hear from other posters what clubs in PL have made this position work for them. I just keep thinking of Joe Kinneaer and LFC spunking money on players who just aren't that good.

Manchester City have one, don't know too much about how successful they are though

Seriously though, with their money, they could be successful without one. Guess I'm looking for concrete evidence that a shift to this model significantly improved the fortunes of an English club (when this shift in fortunes didn't coincide with loads more cash).

Just re-read my post and noticed it looks like I'm being sarcastic about City's success, but I meant I don't know how good the DoF is lol

Don't think there are any other high profile clubs in England that use one, most successful one in European football is probably the one at Bayern but it hasn't really caught on in England.

Blew up in their faces.

Chelsea do it though and it seems to work for them.

I suppose it it is like everything else in football.

If you find the right man it's all good......but if you name the wrong man it ends badly, very badly :(
