Fair enough - might join you on the bleach :pint2:

No but to be serious, im slightly concerned about his lack of "action", it was a minor concern when I looked into the fella, hes got many fingers in many pies, my concern was we would be 1 of his many interests. Now its very early days and hes got plenty of time to pull his finger out, but the fact that somebody somewhere has allowed this manager to retain his job, in the face of everything, just makes me scream.

Then to top it all off the Dutch David Moyes is likely to take over next season.

All in all a very depressing time for me personally regards Everton.

But hey ho, 1 more game left then a summer of brain melting speculation.

Everton that.

Not really comparable is it? Chelsea won the league last season, and I don't remember them spending the last few months of this season getting utterly thrashed by jarg team after jarg team.

We were bottom half last season, and thank god this rot didn't start earlier or we'd have been playing a six pointer tonight. We're competing for players with the likes of Leicester, Spurs, Liverpool, West Ham etc. You'd have to be bloody persuasive to get a player to believe we're a better bet than them.
thought you'd be jizzing over the idea of a ruthless free market

You're all talking about the same man that was 100% ok with the rot of Wenger at Arsenal.

Just going to point that out.

Put Martinez on gardening leave, sack him, back him.

DO SOMETHING.
Yeah, which is why he sold his shares to spend the money on a much less profitable Everton.

WTF?

Its more than partly true. Only now are those 'within the football world' coming to the fore saying RM needs to be looked at; only now is he getting put under pressure within the media.
Managers wont care what GOT thinks, they will read the papers/press and have agents talking to those within the game.
In few weeks we will see why the silence has been so deafening. I believe there is good reasons. But still Im fuming.

We cant because there hasnt been a window and he is getting a new manager in.

Players/agents want two things. Money and a purpose. We effectively can give this to players in bucket loads next year.

What is the purpose though? Had we played with a bit of dignity in the last few months then the rhetoric about a good young team with lots of potential would have carried through to next season. Getting turned over week after week for a couple of months shreds that image imo.

I just find it hard to pin all of this on RM's door. It's clear that he's lost the dressing room here, I've no doubt about that, but right now it seems as though the whole club has lost the dressing room. If they won't play for the manager, why the heck is no one at the club making sure they bloody well play for the shirt?

The purpose is non existent right now. I agree.
But next year, under a new man, they will sell it to players who will lap it up.
Footballers/agents are thick; they will buy in to it if the money is good and there ego's are smoothed.
