He's not a nutter, slightly weird perhaps. He has made one glaring mother of a mistake hiring Benitez, the rest of the charges against him are quite small really and it's just the usual Everton snowball of anger that runs down the hill and by the time it gets to the bottom it's bloody massive.

Yes he should have got rid of Kenwright (if contractually possible) but we have no real idea if it would have made a difference. The real issues stem from where we were as a club, to try and go upwards we needed to get players that were names and expensive, if we tried to get all youngsters at the time the fan base would have done its proverbial nut. As we were a big club but not a successful one where players were likely to win any trophies in the short term they want a massive premium to come here. A few bad buys - which happens to all clubs and we were screwed. Crazy as it sounds had we been a smaller club starting from a worse base line it would have been simpler to build a team for less money.

The real kick in the teeth is had there not been any legislation rules that prevented us from spending we could have taken the James/Digne team and kicked on again. We were prevented from doing this by the arbitrary PL rules. Chelsea were able to spend what they wanted going from the late 90's side that was decent into the champions of the mid 00's, City likewise later on. If Evertonians want to get angry they should direct it to the people that came up with those rules that protect the cartel of top clubs and hit hardest on the ones with the smallest incomes - in other words, us. All Moshiri is guilty of is trying to be ambitious and get there as quickly as possible.

The esk went on the radio and pointed out why we haven't increased our commercial revenue since Moshiri has been here. It was never going to happen! Who's going to sponsor say Finch Farm apart from a related company like USM for the money that would make any difference to the balance sheet? Utd and alike get literally hundreds of millions a year based on their wide reaching fanbase, big games they play in and silverware that bring kudos to any brand. Without success we cannot self generate the income that provides success, it's chicken and egg stuff. You saw when we had Carlo we suddenly picked up a load of Italian companies and the same with Rodriguez with the Colombian ones, but again these are not going to be 'difference' makers.

The stadium might be, but it's not a thing that gets delivered in a couple of years so it couldn't help during this period when we could have needed it most.

The relationships are broken now so Moshiri will probably need to go in the not too distant future, we just got to hope that the stadium is enough to pull in someone with links to be able to pump the kind of money in via sponsorship to get around the PL rules. Without that no matter who is in charge with those rules in place it is almost impossible to be successful.
Have to agree with some of your comments, only thing I disagree with there was more than just a few bad signings and on massive wages, also just one other point DIGNE. Why do people think he's great absolute fraud got ripped apart last 18 months for us and villa have just bought another left back...

Of course there has been a lot of misses, but go to any club that has spent a fair chunk of money and you'll see a similar pattern.

The point about Digne is he was an experienced left back and when you replace and buy younger you are going to lose a bit and that's what we've been doing consistently as we try to unwind the club from taking serious losses to meet the regs. I think the style of play in the 2nd half of the season under Ancelotti didn't suit him and it's been a downward spiral from there. Had he stayed here and we had another 100 million to spend that summer then the team may have gotten back to the more swashbuckling side it was at the start of that season. Perhaps Ancelotti would of stayed? It's likely we would have had a bigger pool of managers to choose from when he left as we basically got Benitez as he agreed to fix our issues on a tight budget.

I disagree with most of your comments, the first mistake was taking over a football club and this was compounded by taking over Everton Football Club . He doesn’t seem to have any idea how to run a club let alone a club steeped in the history and culture of one like ours. Given that I can see why he didn’t want to clean house and was prepared to leave BK in place initially but he should have realised that Bill is old school in a very modern world and needed replacing early doors. He then embarked on a splurge of spending and giving unsustainable contracts to very ordinary players. It wasn’t a few bad buys, it was a systemic failure over a sustained period of time. We got to the point where we had to liaise with outside agencies to see if we could buy a player, it still appears we need loan moves and these loan moves are better than what we have. To blame legislative changes for our demise is to let Moshiri and Kenwright off the hook. Other clubs managed those changes, the was good stewardship of their clubs unlike ourselves who just ploughed straight in. We then move to Benitez, but not just him but the millions wasted on others. Hiring them and their staff, allowing then to half build a squad and then firing them and wasting more on compensation.
On the plus side he is delivering a new stadium which will help us provided we can maintain a good enough position to take advantage of the benefits it will provide though it makes me nervous when you hear the money to complete it hasn’t yet been secured.
When you add to the mix his current reading of our situation it only compounds all that has gone on before. I just read that the Board won’t attend todays match as they fear for their safety, it also means they don’t have to sit through the protests which are planned.
We are a complete mess and it has come about Moshiri and Kenwright’s watch. No fan should allow them to deflect blame, they run the club, they made the decisions which has brought us to this position, time to front up and shoulder the blame and do the descent thing.

Plenty of room for you in the directors enclosure today Farhad. Get on your gulfstream and get you ass up to John Lennon airport.. you'll still make it.
His stupid phone call has really fueled this protest, no wonder the board are advised not to go, unlike this rat who had no intention of coming anyway

You have to define ordinary players. We got who we could at that time, that's the same at any club... Some were good Gana mk.1, Pickford, Digne, Richarlison etc. some were decent to begin with and then dropped off a cliff or something else afterwards like Mina, Gomes, Sigurdsson etc.

There are lots of reasons why it failed, not just on the board. The rules meant once we committed and made mistakes we couldn't correct like clubs had in the past. Look how much city spent under the Shinawatra before the Arabs took over. How much Chelsea spent this summer and couldn't get right despite being a champions league club, so in theory if it was easy getting in players they would be okay.

If you think that the regs has had no effect you are living in an alternate reality.

We did buy some good players Gana mk1, Richarlison and Digne as you say but we had to sell them. We bought a lot more bad ones than good ones and by that I mean players who came in and who didn’t improve the team. We wasted a ton of money paying off managers and their staff, we wasted another ton of money on the inflated wages for players who didn’t help the team move forward. A football club does not usually undergo the decline we have because somebody changed the rules and didn’t tell us, we knew what was happening and the decision takers took the wrong decisions. I cannot accept that our fall from grace is purely down to some bad luck, it is down to bad management and now that bad management team are doubling down and looking for a scapegoat, the fan base.
