If Moshiri was solely focused on investment he wouldn't have spent £450 million on players.

He could easily do a Mike Ashley and invest the bare minimum if he wanted yet he tries his best hence why I think the criticism is very harsh overall.

Plenty of worse owners out there who our fans would be cry arsing about if he sold us to someone who didnt put their hand in their pocket. and accepted their lot in midtable.
You dont get to be ( and stay) a Billionaire be having anything... Especially Debt...in your own name...even down to his Xerox machine, all leased ...you've come for the copier? Take it mate, help yourself, nowt to do with me lad honest, Im brasic...pulling out linings of both pockets in his kecks...i'll get the door for you.
All these defered loans, monies guaranteed by 'Moshiri's Good Name' and all the rest of the accounty wounty, jiggery pokery and rob peter to pay paul flim flam + any and all stadium related debt, will, if Mosh bails or goes bust, suddenly be found under the column marked Debt; Everton F.C & Co. Ltd., not the one marked F. Moshiri (Monaco)

No not really

Did James see Qatar as a step forward?

Did Bernard see the UAE as a step forward?

They were forced out of the club, like Digne is.
James and Digne were definitely forced out, it’s no coincidence Rafael had exchanges with them and then they were gone.Funny how they never muttered a bad word, whereas Rafael did, and somehow they were the bad guys.

Way I see it is unless you're owned by a Middle Eastern State you can forget challenging for the title or even CL regularly unless you're one of the already established elite clubs like Utd, RS, Arsenal, Chelsea, City etc

Leicester are the exception in recent years but all it takes is a Vardy leaving and a bad summer of recruitment to set a club like them back from fighting for 4th/5th to 9th/10th.

I would love nothing more than a good cup run or top 6 finish as the fella deserves it based on his financial commitment so far.
I'm not sure I entirely agree with the first paragraph. I think there has been definite scope the last few years to break into those places. We were well on course for it last year until we imploded Jan-March.

What it takes is good recruitment and stability, which sadly Moshiri has failed completely to deliver.

He inherited a club and fan base vocally demanding to push on and strive for success and in spite of his heavy investment, he now finds a club with high earning underperformers and results that are the form of relegation candidates and an, at best, a fan base mixed on his managerial appointment vocally demanding more.

He seems to have withdrawn more and pushed Kenwright back into the limelight. I hope this review brings big changes and Benitez can deliver some form soon, because otherwise the attention, which has thus far stayed away from Moshiri, will be completely on him.

Whats this perfect system they play?

Villa are such a well run club with such a fantastic blend of youth and experience with pace and partnerships all over the pitch, yet they are 3 points above us having played one more game then us while we're in our worst run of form ever. They were a one player team and they've sold that player and not reinvested the money very wisely by the looks of it.

What progress is this? Getting promoted into the Premier league and Bearley surving by one point then finishing below us both times.

Let's see where everyone is at the end of the season before we wet our pants.
I think now with the system, they press as a team good chemistry. With the right manager and a bit more quality they could go places. Sad to see.

I’m not sure that @PhilRegan is saying they play a perfect system? I think what he means is that Digne fits the system that Gerrard wants them to play. A bit like when Digne joined Everton he fitted the system we played at the time, sadly he doesn’t fit the system the bloke currently sat in the managers office at Finch Farm wants us to play now (unfortunately!)!

Anyway back to Moshiri - if only he had the perfect system we wouldn’t be in the mess we are at the moment!
Totally agree , I'm in no doubt that we are helping them add the quality they need .

Yeah and before them it was wolves who were going places, then before them it was Bournemouth, then it was West ham, before them it was Southampton and before them it was Bolton blah, blah, blah.

The only team that's done anything outside of the top 6 to actually "go places" since about leeds is Leicester and they are currently 6 points ahead of us in one of our worst ever league runs.

Is it a everton thing to completely brick it every time a team looks to be having a little bit of a decent season? Madness.

The thing that baffles me is villa have just had to sell their best player, the players they've brought into replace him aren't doing too well, they've had to sack the manager, their buying old players on crazy wages and people genuinely think their a team thats going to leave us in the dust lol

Before we kicked a ball this season we had 8 decent players - James , Digne , Allan , Pickford , DCL , Richarlison , Doucoure and Gray.

Benitez brought one of those to the club.

Benitez has got rid of James and looks like Digne and Allan will go in this window.

I'm convinced that DCL and Richarlison will go in the summer. So , that's 5 out of the 8.

Whilst Benitez did well with Gray he has done equally badly with Rondon and has apparently lined up one half of the chuckle brothers to replace Allan.

I have no confidence in Benitez bringing in quality replacements and even less confidence in his ability as a coach.

I am convinced that if we stay up this season that Benitez will take us down next.

FFS Moshiri wake up and get rid before it's too late

I personally didn't think wolves or Bournemouth were anything other than flashes in pans.

I felt Leicester were going to achieve good things they started with arguably a worse squad on paper but had a good system and a good blend of youth and experience working in unison.

I think villa will push on with a bit of quality added and unfortunately a promising new manager.

Hopefully we keep up.
