Fans that boo.

In the second half, the crowd actually got behind the team and there was no booing (no applause either) at the end.
There was some booing in the second half and a hefty chorus at the final whistle from where I was in the Lower Bullens.

you could see the players deflate when the booing started. for me besic was the best player on the pitch and that sub for kone was the red rag to the bull for many.
barkley was just not interested last night - he looked like a player who wants out, the subs were awful and the most basic of things - crossing set pieces etc were not good enough for a pub team let alone a prem team. lukaku is a £28 million player and got outmuscled and was on his backside for almost all the game , he was awful . ive seen better from victor anichebe.
if people are booing its not there fault , its the managers and the players.
look at the lack of quality play , look at the decisions , look at the results and look at the table.
if they take the praise when they performed well , they can take the stick when they perform so badly.

More than happy to Boo at FT having witnessed that last night..It's how fans express their disatisfaction with how the team and Management have performed and gone about their buiness..we are the peoples club and the players and management would do well to remember that and if they dont then a good oul boo from time to time is warranted..It's strange but I came on here the night of 1-1 draw with Hull at home in early December and ranted about how that performance had very stark warnings about the rest of our season but even now I'm still not really panicking....The 90's was a long decade to be a toffee with the pleasent break of 95 and the Cup...I'm sure we can sort it..just need to stay safe and write this howler season off...COYB!

There was a lad who booed Barkley during the game, sitting by us last night. The abuse he got for it meant he didn't do it again and rightly so.

The boos for the Besic sub were absolutely spot on and whether he was injured or not, which I doubt seen as he was running the game, I think it was the fans telling Martinez that he should be kept on the pitch because of form, not because he's less senior. Reminded me a bit of the reaction Moyes got for the Spurs sub.

Suppose a lot depends on what you think a 'supporter' is. If your model is that of a consumer, with the language of 'purchase', 'customer satisfaction' and 'rights', then booing follows naturally. If you buy a flat screen TV and it has problems, you'd go back to the store and give the seller an earful. It would be your right; what you purchased is not up to scratch.
Personally, I think of a supporter as something different, less on the model of consumer rights, and more along the lines of an identity, a shared fate that extends over time and doesn't follow market logic. There is a weird way in which booing would be for me, booing myself, rather than rolling up my sleeves (or at least thinking about how to make things better), but I don't suppose everyone shares that view. Rocketing ticket prices and commercialism have changed perceptions a lot. One thing I would say is that it's hard to claim that booing is making things better.

Not being funny, but maybe the booing was one of the reasons he stunk the place out? The lads confidence looks shot to bits, last night every time the ball came near him he look petrified and couldn't wait to get rid of it.
Not bein funny, but it seems to me we are all expected to give him a 'walk-over' for some reason...if Naismith or Osman have a 'mare they get stick...why should he be any different?
I'd just like to add once again that personally I didn't boo, but I do understand why sections of the crowd did...there's a lot of understandable frustration inside Goodison lately and Barkley epitomised the reasons why last night.

There were 13 thousand turned up at Goodison in '83(I think) and they boo'd the team off after a 0-0 draw with Coventry...there were no rocketing ticket prices then mate

Probably already been said, but the booing wasn't aimed any player, or the team, but at the decision by Martinez to sub Besic. In the second half, the crowd actually got behind the team and there was no booing (no applause either) at the end. Even though they are now making out he had an injury, this is no defence for Martinez as he takes him off first virtually every match.
Can't believe that there was anyone there last night who thought, "you know what, that's an inspired piece of management". If you thought the decision stunk, what options have you got -you boo! Moyes got the message after the Spurs game referred to above and, for a while at least, stopped making defensive subs, and hopefully Martinez will also take note
the main reason they booed is because even if he hadn't been injured, it is exactly what they expected martinez to do anyway, and the fans are pretty sick of it

That is true. And the same manager went on to Everton's most successful period ever.
