Fans that boo.

Do the rest of the fans, our players, our manager and our club all a favour and don't bother please. You have just helped to undo that fragile growing confidence in the team. Never been so angry in all my life at poisonous atmosphere at the minute.
I think it's folks' right to boo, however it'd be better done at the end of a half or the end of a game. The danger is that people start to boo when the players a being patient and passing the ball trying to create something, rather than passing for the sake of it.

I agree it'll destroy the confidence of the players so maybe support is needed rather than protest during a game. At the end of the day it's fair if things aren't good enough though.

Players playing like utter morons is pyar bell ends behaviour too.

Agreed, but booing them obviously isn't helping, fans have been doing it since before christmas and we haven't improved. It's not like the players think 'Hear them booing there lads, think we best play a bit better next week'

Where as when the stadium atmosphere is good, as it was in towards the end of the West Ham FA Cup home game and all of the City game, the standard produced by the players was dramatically better.

I actually feel that's exactly what they should be thinking.

As mentioned before. Two way thing. The players need to perform to stop the booing. It won't work the other way round. Fans stop booing, the players will still be sh*te.

You can feel the atmosphere when you walk into the stadium, it's poisonous, people turn up with all intention of booing as soon as something goes wrong, moaning if someone misplaces a pass from the first minute. If the supporters can feel it then the players must be able to ten fold.

Imagine getting boo'd at work everytime you done something wrong.

'Booooooo, they asked for a large fries!!'

Ha! It does seem that way i have to admit. They do seem to turn up expecting the worst and turn on the team dead quick.

It would stop if we played well though.

Meh. Some boo, some don't. Would I boo? Nah probably not. But if some feel it helps them then there's literally nothing we can do to stop it. The players can stop it.

Other than booing, how else are fans meant to show their frustration at the direction we're heading?

Some people would clap us off the pitch even if we got relegated. It doesn't make you a better supporter happy-clapping, the ones booing have every bit as much love for the club as you do.

They're professional footballers on tens of thousands of pounds a week who are in a privileged profession. We are hard working individuals who line their pockets every week to give them a luxurious lifestyle to which we can only dream of having.

All we ask is they put effort in fight to the last breath, which they are not, they're acting like spineless children.

I wont get booed at work if I under perform, I'll get sacked. I know which I'd rather have

I totally understand, actually I totally endorse any booing which is aimed at or involves Leon Osman.

This is the only time it is acceptable. On the pitch, in the Asda, wherever really.

I can't understand how people think that booing doesn't have a negative effect on the players. To say they get paid handsomely so they should deal with it is just mornonic. We don't have a team of Clubber Langs (to continue the Rocky theme) who thirve of the hatred of others, we have a team of human beings who want to be encouraged. Ross Barkley has been reduced to a shadow of the player we know he can be and there is no doubt in my mind that the hateful atmosphere is a major factor in that.

We got behind the team against City and we played well, we were behind the team at West Ham and we played well. Coincidence?

If fans want to boo, they will boo but be in no doubt that it has a negative impact on the players.

That's where the boo boys are getting it badly wrong - if this is to happen every game, it's no wonder the players' heads will gone and we'll be on a hiding to nothing. As I said earlier, booing is fine as long as it's fair - the players need to be given a fair chance and by fair chance, I mean that if we're not 2-0 up after half an hour, don't boo yet.

They are also human beings. It doesn't matter how much money they earn, they still shouldn't have to be subjected to booing from their own 'supporters'.
