Fallout New Vegas

Is that on PC or console RFUS? The newest DLC for New Vegas "Honest Hearts" is pretty good.

Xbox 360. I rarely play PC games these days.

I wasn't quite as scathing as I should have been first time here.

Worst. game. ever.

From a technical standpoint this is the worst AAA title (or thereabouts) I've ever played; it's ugly and glitchy as feck. It was even worse upon release.

But it's the epitome of a diamond in the rough. And yes, it really is rough, but dammit, it's a boss game. I played it for 5 hours straight today which is so, so unlike me -- I never usually play for more than 2 hours at a time, tops.

I didnt like Fallout 3 or new vegas,i have them both even so as the wife loves them proper marmite games imo.

I won't argue with anyone who doesn't like NV. It's like it wants to be hated sometimes.

But the combination of story, loot and quirky characters is one that fits me perfectly.

I was playing today and on a sidequest I had to program a robot for sex; a robot named "Fisto". So even the sense of humour's right up my alley... so to speak *ahem*.

Well, you are a bad Apple ted now...so this is expected....

I know, hehehe.

I pity you PC fools.

I really did persevere with this game until I realised how bad the dynamics were. I was playing it, I was in there, but I haven't picked it up since. I might give it another bash if I'm bored later.

Over 25 hours into this now! I've got to the point where I can really choose what ending I want to go for, but I'm just doing side quests and looking for collectibles and stuff to try and get to level 30. Then I'll make a few saves so I can do all the endings individually.

And despite being nowhere done with this I've gone back and ordered Fallout 3 GOTY edition for 360 (Fallout 3 + all 5 dlcs for £15!!)

Can't go wrong with that.

P.S. Bioware are still better... no matter how addicted I am to a Bethesda game. :P

Falloout 3 with all the DLC will provide you with another 50-60+ hours of playing time. Well worth it for only 15 smacks!

Not to mention I've got the ultimate edition of Dragon Age on the shelf; the game + 7 dlcs + the massive Awakening expansion.

There's my summer sorted!

No. That's LA noir.

Technically it's a bad game, as the gameplay sucks.

But as a piece of electronic entertainment it's fantastic. You must just have the attention span of an 8 year old with ADHD.

What a bad whopper of a nerd this guy is.

Just completed the 2 bioshocks after having both ages and have FNV so will probably get into it soon. Loved TES and Fallout 3 so I know I'll like it but its bound to consume lots of time.

I loved Fallout3, didn't do much of the side missions, but I think I've more than made up for it in NV. I've been playing it on and off for the past 6 months or so, done about 50 hours and the end seems to be nowhere in sight. Amazing game though, I love the open world.

Just finished this. Well, I say finished... I've done my first of the four endings, because I plan on doing them all. I did the crappiest-looking one first -- Caesar's Legion. Seeing as Caesar's a bit of a tit, and they basically just want to enslave everyone.

Anyway, the way you get a slide reel at the end showing how these actions affect everyone is fantastic. It's so cool to see how it all played out for the people, towns and gangs across the game.

Spoiler:

In this ending -- Caesar's Legion + letting him die on the operating table -- it was a pretty bad ending, if you liked the people of New Vegas. I loved the Kings -- come on, an entire gang devoted to looking like Elvis! -- only to find out that the new Caesar enslaved them, before killing them all after they tried to escape! NOOOOOOOOOOO!

I think I'll do the Wildcard one next as I've done a bit of that already on the way to completing Caesar's. Then House and the NCR. It's incredible though the amount of decisions and consequences you face. It must have been a nightmare to make the game so complex. As a fan of story-driven games though, I love it.

As an experience, this is 10/10 stuff for me. Sadly it's bogged down by an incredible amount of bugs and glitches. Throughout my 37 hours in that playthrough, it must have crashed my 360 about 15-20 times. Bear in mind this is on a new model 360, with the game installed! Thankfully I never lost much time as I'm a bit OCD when it comes to saving the game... I made 670+ saves in one playthrough... =S

All in all, if you've played F3 then get this. If you haven't... well I'd only played F3 a tad before playing this and I got it all, and enjoyed it all, so it's not necessary. I would just advise anyone who's not got sucked into this universe yet to give it a real go. If you like classic WRPGs, genuine decision making, story, good (often hilarious) writing and quirky characters then you'll love it.
