Firstly I never criticise Moyes for anything.

However..... and this thread is mostly regarding Barkley.... Why the hell does he show very little faith in anyone under 20?

All he gives them is little cameo roles to play.

Even with Rooney he only started playing him from the start towards the end of his Everton career. Its ok saying "im trying to nurcher him", He's "not ready" "protecting from media"...

I think Barkley is ready for the AM role. Its less of a risk with him there and I think thats where he is most effective.

Fellaini and Gibson sitting Pienaar Mirallas and Barkley as the attacking three and Jelavic the goal poacher

Moyes needs to give the lad a chance in an attacking role. Vibes from
Wednesday fans was great going forward not so much defending. So indicates that he a luxury midfielder rather than a solid workhorse.

I just dont ser the faith in real youth 16+ - 20. Its as though he believes that anyone that age isnt ready.

Thoughts?

How many players under the age of 20 have actually been good enough to get a regular starting space though ?

I think Barkley should be played more, but i don't buy this notion from some that we've had loads of ace kids ready to rip it up. He played Rooney plenty, he's given Vellios chances, same with Gosling.

Why don't you ever criticise him? Don't see an issue with it as long as it's reasonable and non-personal?

Think you've hit the nail on the head. He doesn't trust them fully. I think the game plan and tactics are quite rigid where Moyes is concerned and young players are less likely to follow instructions and more likely to make a mistake, in his eyes.

Rodwell, Barkley, Rooney and one or two others have had regualr games beofre 21 though.

He's an inherently cautious man. It's par for the course.

I think Saturday was just another in the long line of examples showing that he's way too untrusting and hesistant to give young inexperienced players a "chance" that doesn't come from playing them because he literally has no other choice.

Sure someone will say he gave Kieran Agard his debut and that cause he's not playing for Barcelona it means Moyes does everything right or something.

And as i say every time, its not just their age which is the issue, its combined with lack of experience.

Completely agree mate, you could argue Rodwell made lots of appearences but quite often he was out of position or covering for one of our more established players. If i were Moyes i'd have brought Barkley on against Norwich after 60-70 minutes gone, i think he'd have been a menace to the tired Norwich players and the rest of our midfield seemed nackered and due a shake up, i think Moyes is just a ****house at times.

Damn it, meant to put the words "who has pin ups of Moyes on his wall next to pictures of pies" in this sentence.

Sure someone will say he gave Kieran Agard his debut and that cause he's not playing for Barcelona it means Moyes does everything right or something.

Only Ruddy's proven him wrong too.

Or apart from Ruddy its proven that under Moyes, unless a player is already good enough , him and his staff are bloody useless at bringing young players through and developing them, every one they have at their academy are either top class naturally or complete gash so they're doing something completly wrong.

Any manager in the world would play Rooney at the age Moyes did.

Velios has had cameo roles and I also dont think hes good enough anyway.

However, from what ive seen of batkley he is good enough.

why would you want our top scorer as a DM? & replace him with someone with little premier league experience?

Because I feel as though it would benefit yhe team more. Its all good saying Felli is top goalscorer but is his role effecting other players? Im not sure.
