Fair Play Top 6...

I would take the Europa with both hands. It improves our standing in football, plus the better we do improves our co-efficient so we get put in a better place for the draws.

It isn't about money all the time (although it is nice) sometimes it is the prestige. And if you say there is no prestige in you are crazy. We are all gutted about losing out on the FA Cup, well the Europa is at least on par with that.

It's not about being in an "inferior" tournament for me, it's the knock on effect of two games every week for large chunks of the season would have on our threadbare squad that puts me off.

Do we really want to get in to the Europa cup any way, yea it would be nice to have a few extra games but Moyes will only moan about the extra games on our thin squad and our leauge form will suffer, it would be great if we did get into it and Moyes used the the youngsters in it giving them experience and game time to show what they can do, to see if there good enough for our first team

For those who think it's a poor competition, we do have a European Cup Winners Cup on our honours list ya know, and I for one would like something else to go with it.

Can you imagine if we won the Europa ? I'd probably buy a nice chippy meal to celebrate or something.

European football is the prize for doing well domestically.............. I would love European football. We employ top athletes at the club and if they can't manage an extra game a week then god help us. I'm mid 30's and can still play 2 games a week ( all relevant I know as i' don't play at top level but then again , im not a top athlete ).

I bet if the players were on a pay as you play contract they would find it easy to play 2 games a week.

This.
On C5 the other night Stan Collymore, of all people, summed it up perfectly. They were showing the reaction of Llorente at the final whistle in the Athletic-Sporting match, and what it really does mean to do well in this competition. He said something along the lines of "what you put in, you get out". For me, the only thing that devalues it is the Champions League dropouts playing in the later rounds.
It's a shame that we won't be there next year.

Unfortunatly, there is no way we are going to qualify for Europe this season, and I wouldn't want to qualify under the Fair Play League anyway, I would find that embarrassing. But hopefully next season, we will have the opportunity to get back up there into the top 6.

Although the Europa League is by no means perfect, a club like Everton needs to be competing in Europe, even it is the 2nd string European competition. It important to the fans and the players to get that excitement back Although it is pathetic the amount of games you have to play to win and the fact that Champions League drop-outs enter after the group stages, those extra fixtures generate more money for the club with gate profits and a little bit of TV money. Its nothing compared to the Champions League, but beggars cant be choosers.

many of youse seem to have missed something, it appears that there is a chance of us qualifying through our league positioning, ofcourse put the www at the start

Spurs would have to lose all of their remaining games.

Not having a go at you mate but god this type of quote annoys the hell out of me.

Its got nothing to do with the fact that professional footballers get paid a lot when it comes to playing more games. Of course they are capable of playing twice a week if they have to, its not a case of them playing Thursday then being too tired to get out of bed Sunday.

Its being able to give 100% in every game and being at peak fitness so as to reduce the risk of injury. Then there is the lack of preparation time between games which makes a difference.

Its shown time and time again that clubs in Europe and the extra games it brings struggle domestically because they cannot then play at the top of their game when they need to.

ive been thinkin about this , and im still unsure if we can qualify , if we do qualify , it will be all down to how chelsea get on in the 2 finals there in , if they win champsleague then there in champsleague next year and newcastle wont be but they will be in europa league , tottenham will get europa and livrpool are in europa because of carling cup so there should still be a place for europa from the f.a cup final liverpool tottenham and chelsea will already have places in europe so the next team inline from the semi final of fa cup is us . im sure 8 teams from england play in europe , like you have the top six in the league that play in europe then there is 2 places from the 2 domestic cups

The Europa League has a certain prestige and I would love to win it. It is scandolous the difference in money between it and the CL. They should have the winner qualifying for the CL too.

ok so what about this scenario , just say top 4 finish where they are , and chelsea dont win champsleague , you will have man u man city arsenal and newcastle in champs league you will have tottenham and chelsea 5th and 6th , so there in europa , just say that we won fa cup and liverpool carrling cup , would that not be 8 teams playing in europe , now this is just a scenario because obviously where out the fa cup , but just say the season finished like that , would 8 teams be playing in europe ?
