Who's that Swansea?
I hope the RS win the FA Cup - Matt Damon 2012
I won't be responding to any other tittish posts you make, so save yourself the bother.
Who's that Swansea?
ok so what about this scenario , just say top 4 finish where they are , and chelsea dont win champsleague , you will have man u man city arsenal and newcastle in champs league you will have tottenham and chelsea 5th and 6th , so there in europa , just say that we won fa cup and liverpool carrling cup , would that not be 8 teams playing in europe , now this is just a scenario because obviously where out the fa cup , but just say the season finished like that , would 8 teams be playing in europe ?
No.
If we won the FA Cup then only the top 5 league places would get into Europe. 6th are only getting it because Chelsea and Liverpool are in the final.
Top 4 qualify for CL
5th Qualifys for EL and the..
2 cup winners qualify for EL
Simples yeah???
If the fa cup winner has qualified for europe through the league the cup runner up takes the EL spot. If they have already qualified through league or other means 6th place takes the fa cup spot.
The league cup winners take a EL spot. If theyfinish top 5 another league place 7th would be available through the league.
If chelsea win the CL they will defend it at the expense of the team finishing 4th who will drop into the EL along with the league cup winners and the team finishing 5th.
4 teams CL (max)
3 teams EL (max) only exception is fair play occasionaly giving us extra team in EL
Not having a go at you mate but god this type of quote annoys the hell out of me.
Its got nothing to do with the fact that professional footballers get paid a lot when it comes to playing more games. Of course they are capable of playing twice a week if they have to, its not a case of them playing Thursday then being too tired to get out of bed Sunday.
Its being able to give 100% in every game and being at peak fitness so as to reduce the risk of injury. Then there is the lack of preparation time between games which makes a difference.
Its shown time and time again that clubs in Europe and the extra games it brings struggle domestically because they cannot then play at the top of their game when they need to.
Its what big successful clubs do mate, yes we have a small squad compared to many but without Europe how will we ever be able to get the best players or even just the players we target ? European football is what players want, if we can't offer them that then we shall forever stay an underachieving top ten club. Two games a week is nothing, not if you have the right mental attitude.

You're just not getting it....
So we get into Europe one season, play a ton of extra games and finish 12th instead of 6th, thus knocking us out of contention for Europe the following season anyway.
The only way for us to get into Europe regularly is to slowly build a strong squad, not by qualifying with the paper thin team we have now. Look at how dodgy our team has looked at points this season already even without extra games.
